Climbing the ladder (ranked)

I think this whole elo (hidden MMR) system is broken, i just reached gold and i carried every game. Even though i was placed with platinum being silver. I don`t think you should have to play platinum in order to get to gold V. Maybe it is just me, but having a good % of win shouldnt penalyze you. I havent had too much problem climbing because i main D4 but i think someone who is gold V or IV worth will have a hard time getting there, even if hes better than most of the people in that division. What do you think?

I agree. I recently played a game against a plat and a diamond o_O. I have no idea how I got placed with them. The weird part was they were not even that much better than our team. In the end we actually won the game.

I just posted on this, had an AHRI Silver 4 with TWO HUNDRED wins in silver division and i have 70 wins in silver 1

This is the type of person who makes you lose every..single...match..no matter if you carry with the cane top lane hard

its pretty ridiculous honestly

i've been playing against people in gold 3 to gold 1 ever since silver 4.
-i won placements for silver 4 and got put in silver 2, whoop de doo.
-then i decayed out of silver 4, won placements in silver 3 and placed in silver 1, whoop de doo.

and I'm still playing against people in gold 3 to gold 1, occasionally platinums. why not put me where my mmr consistently has me, considering i'm winning enough games to promote? it's great that i'm skipping divisions and all, but why is the limit set to a single division skip? do i really have to theoretically promote against players at the top of gold division just to get into gold league?

i already opened multiple tickets to riot their response is basically fuck off try harder bitch

i got to silver 1 with 86 Lp and ever since 20 games later i havent gotten over 15 lp in silver 1 because of my team being low division ranked and the other team having multiple golds

It's not even that. I get about 30 lp for winning and lose about 5-10 when I lose. I know I will climb if I play a ton, it's just ridiculous that I have to play so many games to get where my MMR has me. Even Op.gg has my MMR at 1735 which is the same as my Gold II friend, but I'm still in Silver I. The issue isn't even LP for me, it's that promotion series don't care what your MMR is. It's purely based off of win loss, even if you're losing to people 5 divisions higher than you.

I stated that too, they have a fking sht system of determining who's actually good and matching them with good players.

They don't care dude if you get a couple lucky games youll get matched with 2 divisions above you and get wrecked because your team still has the same division you're in on it.

I already said before give me a team of 4 competent people i'll be master V within a week

This happened to me. I was in Silver 1 for ALL of season 4 up until September 5th. The whole time, Gold II and Gold I. Once I got into Gold V, I faced platinums. I went on a 6 game lose streak, won twice, lost another 5, won twice, lost another 4 etc. Now my MMR is lower than Gold V BUT the games are so much easier and the LP gains didn't really change. I still get about 20 a game

^This is precisely my complaint. They need to make it so that you play against people who are similar to you in rank, not MMR. Your MMR should be the judge your LP gains, not the people you play against.

I also think they need to rework promotion series. Currently your MMR has no impact on your series, so you could lose 3 games and win 2 against platinum league players and continue to be stuck in silver as a result.

If your MMR gets really high compared to your division you will not only skip divisions, you will skip the entire promo series to begin with. On my second account I had been playing with a friend and got to Silver I, he quit and I decayed to Silver III or IV. Another friend wanted to play and the second I hit 100LP I got a you have been promoted to Silver I message, no series. I did my Gold promos and when in Gold V and got skipped to Gold III at 100 LP no series.

I find it comforting that other people are complaining about League's MMR/ELO system. Whenever I mention it, the responses make me feel like it's just me. I too have sent countless numbers of tickets to Riot that have all been auto responded. Is Riot aware of this issue, but aren't open to fixing or improving their system? What is the actual status of this compliant?

Yeah i am running into a problem where i did my provisional games and went 6-4. got placed in Silver 2. That was okay with me. The thing that isn't okay with me is now i am trying to climb to a higher division and all i am playing is people in gold 2-4. If these are the people that i should be playing against then why place me in Silver 2?
