Support: Reduction & Removal of Mages

So with the nerfs/buffs to support items and most mages will be virtually phased out due to them (ad/vanguards will reign) can we expect any compensation buffs for said mages that were never meant to be Supports?

Lux, Brand, Annie, Zyra, Xerath, Vel'Koz -- can we see any base stat or ability adjustments to help them be more competitive mid lane? It's no surprise that they (mostly Lux, Brand & Zyra) are so insanely weak compared to other mid laners or mages that they have abysmal winrates and aren't strong versus anyone. Just wanted to know since they're being phased out all-but-entirely from Support.

Also when will any compensation buffs be seen for the Tank Supports? Alistar, Leona, Braum, Taric primarily. Enchanters will at least live since their mana costs are pretty low (with the exception of Sona) but the likes of Alistar are entirely screwed. There is no support item that they want, and there is no mana regen outside of Athenes or Redemption both of which Alistar doesn't want to build... yet we have his basic abilities costing 80-120 mana each.

you know, if people would just play those champs in their intended roles then riot would balance accordingly. you guys shooting yourselves in the foot by insisting on taking brand, zyra, velkoz etc to bottom lane and supporting where rito have to nerf ya'll into barely anything so that regular supports get to play the game too.

You can buy targon to get ap for leona even though your ratios are like 0.2 :omegalul:

item 3853 item 3860 both have a decent amount of ap so idk if mages will actually be removed from bot If nothing else Lux Brand VelkozZyra will probably be more oppressive

The problem is that you can't buff mage "supports" without them totally overrunning the support role. After all, why would they go mid, when they can literally just focus on scoring kills in bot lane because they outclass literally every support that exists if they get buffed.

This makes you rethink how you'll use your abilities. Also makes you primarily take Precision on every Mage/Tank support just to get that sweet, sweet max 500 mana and mana refund.

This means mages are now forced to rethink what items they're going to buy AND on top of that, if they're going for mana items, it means taking away power from their oppresive pokes. On one side, good! On the other side, it sucks if you're stuck with a mage/enchanter who is very nitpicky about his mana pool.

As far as tank support items go, we'll never see tank ones. Riot doesn't really care enough to add items for like 5 champions.

tank's got hurt more by this then mages actually especially with the mana and cd removal.
