Talon?

Why was Talon even nerfed? In my opinion he was a very stable champion, did lots of damage.. had nice utility.. but very squishy and damage could fall off easily. Why would they take away his silence? Like.. he revolved around being able to take down mages with that.. his silence is what made him a good champion.. but yet they replaced it with a slow that was barley even fucking noticeable because of how short it lasts? Trundle's Q slows champions longer than Talon's new "Oh-So-Important" CC mechanic change. Some people may not think that silence was a big deal.. but it's a total game changer for Talon.. and now he's just fucking broken. Hardly worth playing.

He's just not viable any more, and no one from riot will say a word about their plans for him, because he's so rarely played that they just don't care. I mean he hasn't had a new skin in 2 years. Then all of the sudden he's op and needs a nerf, there were many ways to beat talon's silence: cleanse, any form of tenacity, qss, zhonyas, or just simply staying out of range, I mean his cutthroat can't even reach baron or dragon from outside the pit. He was not a toxic anti-counterplay machine, he was just an assassin that was very good at punishing people who went out of position.

Here's a thought, maybe think before you comment on threads like these. If you haven't both played against and played as the champion in question don't give your insight on how that champion works. So if you don't play Talon please do not preach about how easy a champion he is. Most good players would agree that even pre-nerf Talon's cons outweighed his pros heavily. That's why even in the LCS he was only picked as a counter pick to extremely good champs like zed or ziggs. If you don't want to build items according to your lane opponent then you don't deserve to win. Also, look on the other side of the issue. If you play talon into a bursty cc champ like syndra you build a hexdrinker, if you play him into malzahar or mordekaiser you build a quicksilver sash. If you play him into akali you upgrade your red trinket as quick as possible. The same arguments go both ways.

Talon is a second rate Katarina atm.Katarina

His silence lasted 1 second people. He wasn't gonna kill you in that time unless he has 5 items and is fed beyond salvation.

In Lane the silence was practically useless except as an interrupt.

Talon's laning phase wasn't even stellar either.

But I digress. I just want the interrupt back and i'll pretty much be satisfied.

couldn't have put it better myself, that one sec wasn't that bad at all. not when compared to other silences that existed at the time. like when leblanc had that silence that lasted about 4 seconds. they need to give his silence back.

His silence WAS a big deal. With it, he was all but guaranteed a kill or if not, guaranteed to escape and the enemy can't retaliate.

It had no way to avoid the Silence AND it put him in a perfect spot to use his kill combo (E-Q/W-(Ignite)-Ult) 1 second was generally enough to blow up carries while they can't do a thing about it.

Talon is still strong, it's just now good Talons have to bait out CC instead of wait for all abilities off cooldown, and kill whenever he pleased.

Bait out CC then do something

Sounds like Katarina without resets.

Against who? Champions that he was suppose to counter?

Marthian1 votes

Against anyone he wanted to kill. ADCs, mages, squishies. His Silence wasn't just for killing his counters, it also was extremely good against every squishy.

I find it a needed Evil to have his silence.

Except when he has it, you are guarantee'd a kill since the other champion can't do crap about.

That is basically THE reason why he lost his silence: It has no counterplay period, and the ability already repositions him into the perfect spot.

Cleanse/QS, Banshee's, Barrier, HP items.

If your champion cant effectively use these items then you picked the wrong champion against talon.

Pick beefy champions like AP bruisers and other assassins wreck talon.

You shouldn't be forced to run a specific spell in order to play against a champion (looking at mundo as well) it's also a much longer CD than Talon's ult. Banshee's is expensive to build and it will massively delay your damage (so talon can't kill you and you can't kill him.) QSS for similar reasons (also dead end item for ap champs. Also longer cd than his ult.)

And it wasn't just against mages or assassins Talon could free gib. It is also other squishies, notably the ADC (who unless fed, needs to build damage, or fall behind the enemy adc.)

There is still no justification for him having a free silence that puts him in a perfect spot. If he needs buffs, that's fine (I still see good Talons do well) but he is NOT GETTING HIS FREE SILENCE BACK!

I am sorry, but i disagree. In champion select when you first pick mid and see a hard counter. Your thoughts should be how can i make this laning phase easier, because you know your not going to win.

Look at LCS they change there summoner spells depending on who they are facing and if you look at high elo who main one champion they have runes pages and masteries for different match ups for the same champion and when i face assassins mid i run exhaust then my normal ignite unless it is akali or fizz then i change my rune pages. Even then certain match ups would be hard and you have to go defense and last to late game. I don't mean go pure tanky, but enough where your not instantly dieing.

When i do this in lower elo's I see the mentality OMG your dps why you get tank item, your trash this and trash that. Why didnt you buy boots first. I heard it all. There is no set build order other then to adapt to your game. Yes! there is a core build, but to expect to always run it 100% is wishful thinking.

Stop looking at OMG i have to get a specific spell or item to counter this champion and look at it as OMG this one spell or item counters this champion. "I WIN BUTTON".

To say talon has no counter play, because you refuse to use the tools you have is no excuse for a champion to be nerfed.

his silence was never that powerful. even when he had it he still wasn't a champ that could steamroll his lane because of it. when he still had it u still had to use caution and care when facing against champs like zed, leblanc or katarina for example. ditching the silence for a crappy slow makes no sense when his W, rake slows people plenty as it is. also for those whining that he could kill to easy, keep in mind this. he's an assassin. he's all about burst to it's fullest and his kit reflects this. talon never got out of hand unless you or someone else on your team was foolish enough to feed him early game. plus talon has never held up well in straight up fights even when he had his silence. he's a champ that is all about waiting for the right time, on the right target to pick up the quick kill. as it should be for an assassin.
