As title reads, I recently started playing Talon this week for his counter pick ability but realised that half the champions he counters on websites is due to his silence which is now removed. Which off Kassadin, Lux, Ahri, Morg Veigar or Katarina does he still counter? And are there any other Mid laners you'd insta lock talon against?

The Mormonator2 votesI'd say that he still poops on Morg and Kass and Lux, I play him into basically any ap mid with little-no crowd control. I've run him into Orianna and Azir with a lot of success. He doesn't do well against Katarina anymore since he can't silence her ult. Let me know what else you find out.
Goth Thot1 votesHe still works against Lux and Morg. Both of their binds are really slow moving and you can win trades easy by just using your e to dodge the bind and get behind them. Lux is incredibly squishy and easy to burst down (her shield won't mitigate how much damage you do) once you get past the bind and Morg's magic damage shield is useless against Talon since he's pure AD/phys damage. You can also avoid her ult with your ult (she won't know which way to move to keep the tether). He also works against Veigar - bait out his stun - usually he'll put it AROUND you and then you e over it and onto him to dodge getting stunned and burst him down super easy. Once again Talon doesn't build AP so Veigar's ult loses a lot of potential (also hard for him to point and click you if you stealth).

Worgslarg1 votesI'd argue differently. Talon was certainly over-nerfed, but his 100-0 potential is higher than zeds(assuming the zed build bork/ yomumus, as most do)

Worgslarg1 votesSo they're not the same. In a pure 1v1, zed will far outdamage talon. However, the speed of talons burst is an advantage that zed does not have.

I found he overall has the advantage in these lanes. Orianna is still trouble because she is Orianna, Lord of the Lane Control, but a good Talon can force her out of the lane.
SmokinSickStyle1 votesFrom early to mid game pretty much nothing changes, mages don't burst you down that early, Talon's powerspike at 6 and his fast burst can dominate just as before.
The only problem i found is when i have to focus a lategame mage, they always, ALWAYS end up using the OP item known as Zhonya, and unless someone else CC's them for you, Talon isn't able to prevent them saving their asses because that silence, even 1s and short as it could have been, was crucial for his assassination potential.
