@Riot, Please Talk to Us About Talon Changes

I've seen you guys respond very quickly to the Soraka thread, but I feel like there have been a few threads created asking about the Talon nerf without any kind of response. Could you engage with us about this? I liked Talon a lot, but I feel like the lack of compensation for this nerf REALLY hurts him, and makes him a pretty worthless pick when compared to Zed, Fizz, Yasuo. Ask yourself this question: Why would I pick Talon? I can't seem to answer that now, and I would really appreciate some dialogue about this. Thanks

It's pretty frustrating how Riot tries to pass by this referring to it as a "minor nerf," and then avoids engaging in ANY discussion of any type with the community regarding it.

They know what they did.

Well ultimately people were really only picking these mid laners (Lb and Talon) because of their gap-closing silences. There really was no way to negate the damage in a lot of cases.

Just because they got rid of the silence and put in the slow doesn't mean Talon is hurt, he is just modified. You can still burst a heavy amount of damage and get away scot free with a well-timed ultimate ability. I personally don't mind a second slow to couple with his 'Rake', it will separate people who play Talon because they like the champion as opposed to people who play Talon because they want a nearly secured win.

Honestly, I think it will take them a couple of days, but eventually riot developers will realize how retarded this nerf is. Truthfully, talon was best used as a situational counter pick to some popular mid lane mages. Now his matchups are completely skewed, and he's become a weaker version of assassins like zed and yasuo. The thing that bothered me the most was making the e a slow instead of like a cast interuption move or snare. Two abilities applying the same form of cc on one champion just sounds so stupid and lazy by riot. I expect that a rework is on the way, but would it kill any of the devs to give us some context or confirmation?

Also, wanna quickly address all those people who believe that the silence was toxic and had to go. Silence is not a mechanic that is synonymous with no counter play. In fact, its even less of an annoyance than stuns or snares. At least when you are silence you can still move and auto attack. There is this nifty little item in the shops called a quicksilver sash item 3140 that removes silence or any form of cc for you, and there's also this summoner spell called cleanse summoner 1 that does the same thing. The amount of crying over talon's silence being op was simply due to a lack knowledge and skill at lower elo's. The context of talon's silence was that he has to land directly on top of an enemy champ and expose himself to all sorts of harass and bad positioning in order to silence a target and go for the kill, and the best part was that he couldn't just blink back away or jump to a ward after a kill. His silence made him arguably the prime example of an all in champ with no real escapes or resets to save his ass.

So, of course this nerf wasn't warranted at all, but as with all things, it will take riot much longer to respond to the negative aspects of their changes than the positive ones. I do have faith that they will eventually realize the mistake in removing the silence and nerfing talon, and change it back or rework his entire kit to make him more viable, because i know the riot dev team is full of smart people who know how to admit a mistake when they fk up.

They are just ramrodding the champions they dont like, or that the 'pros' don't like, into positions that Riot themselves (not us, you know, the people that matter) want to put those champions in. They are just hardcore trying to reinforce the asinine (an in my honest opinion, very bland and unfun) meta that sprang up. Pros don't use it still, and they try to enforce it harder. Talon was hit unjustly, Sona was hit unjustly, Soraka was replaced an entirely different champion who for some reason is wearing a Raka-suit and thinks that their a champ worth existing.

I get why the silence needed to go, but it was also a huge nerf and riot does not seem to see it that way. They havnt talked about how talon should look after the nerf at all. I would much rather have a rioter acknowledge how central the silence was to his kit than a .25 second slow.

Still not a single red response to any Talon discussion...
