LP and AFKs

During a ranked game, if a player goes AFK, and your team agrees to surrender, you still lose LP. This seems like an oversight to me. I understand that maybe if a game goes on for 45 minutes, and someone goes AFK at 40, maybe the loss is deserved if your team was already behind. Even with that in mind, if the game is at a stalemate, an AFK at 40 is a lost game. I understand that implementing an "AFK safeguard" where having an AFK negates loss of LP might, eventually, result in people AFKing in order to save their premade or teammates from losing the LP in a game that is already lost, but maybe an LP penalty for the AFK player can prevent this? I'm no rioter (yet hopefully), so I understand if a solution is something that cant be done as of now, but its beyond frustrating to ff at 15 and then lose LP because a toxic yasuo dc's at 10 minutes, and I'm sure it doesn't only bother me.

Ranked is a flawed concept.

Ok sure but why2 votes

They could easily make an equation to balance this out, with amount of people afk and %of the match they were afk for

It wouldn't be hard at all

I'd make it something like LP lost = (Normal LP Lost) 1/(5 x %match duration player was afk), so if one person was afk all game, you'd lose only 80% LP, since it was a 4v5. Etc.

It would seriously fuck over people who went afk because of reasons they could not control, like power outages, emergencies, etc. And if it was implemented, the boards would just be full of people posting about how they lost 70 lp because their dog pushed over the router or something.
