Supports: The lingering issue

Ever been in a Teambuilder que, and you get every person, except support? And then they get impatient, and they leave....and you get replacements in, still no support...I've had this repeat five times some days. Why is this, though? Because most people don't care to support. People want to carry, they want to do damage and try for a pentakill. Supporting has simply never been made fun for most players.

How can this be fixed? A) Lower teams to 4v4, and suddenly there's no support? Maybe? IDK. Just a thought. B) Make double jungling a thing to remove the support position. C) ??? IDK. Hence why I started this thread. Anyone got any ideas?

FTR, if you don't see this as an issue, or if you are one of those people who enjoy support a lot....There's really no need to say that here.

As a player who mains support (but does play other roles from time to time), i've yet to really see that problem when i play a different role. Wether i'm just lucky or not, it's usually the adc we wait one.

But i have seen some complain about the lack of support players. It is one of the least played roles, since, as you even said, ppl want to carry. They want to be able to say that they won us the victory (even of their little support actually set them up for all those kills, just saying XD) instead of having practically no kills and trying to give all the glory to others. Which is fine, us support mains will sit back and bask in our own glory.

They do probably need to work out something to help those who go so long with 0 ppl jumping in as support. Like, if after say 20 minutes a support hasn't jumped in, a different role is selected...idk lol

As a support main, I'd really only leave a lobby if I believe the team is bad. Like do we have a good carry? Do we have a good engage/tank? Is anyone already being toxic? If any of these are answered "badly", I leave. I don't want to play a game with you if you call me a piece of junk wardbot player, etc. If we have no tank because someone wants to vayne top, the team will fall apart, I want a chance to win, not a guarnteed loss.

I may not like to play support, but I need a support to be able to play Jinx, so no. Thanks.

Just get rid of sightstine and buff trinkets so supports can buy more goodies rather than having to use up 800 of their gold on some non-combat item. Then supports would at least be significantly stronger so that it wouldn't feel like you're the weakest champion on the map when playing on anymore.

Alternatively, they could just buff all the supports in some way. It feels like they were nerfed this season with a mastery tree that doesn't do them as many favors as before.

My idea of a 3rd option would be to give supports a real objective to try to achieve. Like, the first champion to get a gold income item to a certain amount of gold, or the first champion to get so many assists, or some other goal like that, earns something substantial. Right now, supports do not have enough objectives to try to achieve. They just help other people on the team get objectives and virtually never solo any of them unless the enemy team is really bad and leaves one ridiculously wide open.

well in my experience its bot lane everyone waits on sometimes adc and sometimes support and i see marksmen contesting supports 90% of the time for most wanted in team builder, for supports i think it's the fact that alotta people would rather carry than get someone fed by that same notion supports do get blamed if the adc is toxic and same with adcs. honestly i think both roles are open all the time cuz no one really wants to put up with the other thats my opinion as a adc main who has had many supports be toxic
