Nice to see riot nerfed Riven this patch
Oh wait they didn't. Riot needs to nerf her to the ground. The q-aa-q-aa-q makes it so she out trades EVERY top in the game. All of her "counters" get shitted on in lane now. Wanna tank? Lol nah I'm gonna go BC-LW and make your armor worthless. Wanna gank? Nah I'm just gonna out speed you in your mobis bootless with my dashes. Wanna pick a poke champion? Nah I'm gonna max E and 100-0 you at 6. Wanna pick someone that shuts me down til lvl 3? Nah I'm gonna go wolves and come back with lvl and item advantage.
Now you are wondering - "how can we nerf her without gutting her?" Well that's an easy one
- Make it impossible to cancel aa animation (that might gut her in higher elo play)
- Force Rivens to max Q by nerfing her E scaling (that would be the ideal nerf for now)
- Nerf her scaling to the ground
Riven has the issue that She is tanky like a bruiser, with the mobility of an assassin, with the damage of a lane bully early with ridiculous carry potential. Every lane bully has a weakness and trade off for their early game dominance (except for LeBlanc, but that's for another time) Pantheon - Sustain, Scaling, Hard countered by armor stacking Darius - Poke, Immobility Renekton - Nerfed to hell (lol) Riven - Sustain (?)
Rivens biggest supposed weakness, her sustain, because shes manaless, is easily fixed by building ls, buying pots, or just bullying the other guy out of lane. Every lane bully has an hard counter in lane. Darius is poke, Pantheon is sustain or poke, Renektons is Poke or tanks. Rivens hard counter is ----. Rivens worst match ups is easy to win with a gank or even level 2 cheesing. Out of every Riven counter, non of them can exactly dominate her.
Ranged champs are too squishy to deal with Rivens mobility or cc Tanks get destroyed all game by Riven Other lane bullies have to deal with crippling problems, something Riven doesn't have to deal with
And the best part about Riven? She is perhaps the most mobile champion in the game with the gutting of Kass.
All together you have an super mobile, high damaging lane bully that you can't counter because of the inexpensiveness of Pen items.
