Why do people complain about assassins if they won't build armor, zhonyas, health, take exhaust, etc?

Yes Ezreal didn't have Mr, does that mean it's ok that a fucking TF card can 1 shot him late game? Why are we reworking and calling assassins unhealthy when shit like this exists? Why play an assassin when you can do this shit. Assassins are useless unless they kill the backline. Mages are always useful.
