Help (I'm a support main!)

So I have noticed a trend in which my junglers seem to be consistently losing. I was wondering if you guys could provide some tips as to how a support can assist the jungler in getting ahead early.

  • Keep your/the enemy tri bush warded/swept to assist them with ganks.

  • Ward the enemy jungle when possible to assist with counterjungling/counterganking (don't go too deep especially if you don't know where the jungler is.)

  • Be ready to roam if your jungler gets invaded. This is the #1 thing I see botlaners fail at, if your jungler is getting invaded they will most likely ping but you should still be ready for anything. Just keep an eye on your jungler when they're in your bot side.

  • Keep dragon warded and/or swept as much as possible, also be ready to roam towards drag whenever the opportunity presents itself.

  • If your jungler is nearby and you have the utility, give them an MS boost or heal, you can also shield them while they clear camps or CC the camp for them.

  • Pretty unlikely unless you rush mobis and/or have vision control, but you can gank mid with your jungler to help close out kills.

Aside from that, there's not too much a support can do IMO. One of the best things you can do as a support is get your laner ahead, however, because that'll take some of the pressure off the jungler later.

All that Hotarµ said! I can't further emphasize how important it is to be ready to roam when the jungler is nearby, but be sure to not do so at a time that will put your carry in danger.

  • ... although, .. there are definitely times where your jungler has WAY more carry potential than your carry. ... but I'll never admit to abandoning my carry ..

There is also a NA support that makes YouTube videos named i0ki. I've learned a lot from him. I don't know of any good ones on OCE, sry.

One big one I learned from him is to consider pathing through bot side jungle when returning from base. This makes it easier to roam to mid if they are in a good position, you might also be able to assist the jungler, you can place deeper wards during this, and you might spot an invade.

Ward more, Roam to help him when he is in trouble, roam to drake and help him unless its obvious he is trying to sneak it, and then if someone shows up roam to make sure he secures it, and help him fight over crabs. You would be surprised how many people DON'T help a jungler fight over crabs, and you roaming up at level 3 or later generally leads to a kill or at least that crab. I jungle on one account, and play support on this one, so I fully understand the struggle when the enemy roams to camps/Kindred marks/crabs/drakes, and your team doesn't. And sadly, sometimes you dont even notice it.
