After 8 months, I still don't know if Neeko's passive is working as intended.

It's been eight months since Neeko release, and Neeko still has obvious visual discrepancies in her passive: inherent glamour. There are many small examples such as Neeko's inability to appear wearing an ally Kaisa's void-mask even if Kaisa is currently wearing it, but to be brief, I will only be mentioning more obvious problems.

  1. Kayn Once Kayn transforms into either shadow assassin or Darkin (Rhaast) form, Neeko is unable to assume his new appearance. This means that if you see kayn in his base form any time after the real kaon has transformed, its obviously Neeko.

  2. Aatrox This interaction, as seen in pro play, shows that when Neeko appears as Aatrox, she won't hold his stance signifying his passive is active. In Aatrox's normal combat animation, we walks with his sword held out to the side of his abdomen. This is the posture Neeko assumes. However, when Aatrox's passive is up, he holds the sword above his chest. Furthermore, when Aatrox moves long distances, he stores the sword upon his back. Neeko does no such thing unless she has a movement speed buff. If Aatrox is coming at you from the jungle with his sword by his waist, it is likely to be Neeko unless he recently attacked monsters.

  3. Gnar Unfortunately, mini-Gnar's auto attack range is tied to his passive. This means when Neeko disguises herself as him, although she appears as mini-Gnar, she is only capable of a melee attack range. It look really silly for a Gnar to move so close to hit a tower for seemingly no reason.

  4. Kaisa Vayne Teemo Less glamour-breaking than the champions mentioned above, many champs may have passive abilities that change the animation of their auto attacks or auto attack effects. In one instance, auto attacks directly from a champion's passive mark the target Kaisa. Others have a passive ability that marks the target Vayne. For some, once an ability has been leveled the particle effect for the auto attack itself changes Teemo. Neeko's disguise does not copy these details.

  • These are just a few examples of how Neeko's passive can be identified. I would need to make a much longer post to describe all the discrepancies in Neeko's passive including novel model animations due to passives Sejuani, or (although I'm not certain) resource increase by auto attacks Mordekaiser.

Although I can see how many (if not all) of these interactions will take a great deal of programing, or are simply left because a perfect Neeko may be unhealthy for the game overall, I don't understand why some passive abilities such as Janna's Janna Zephyr are copyable while other champion passives are not.

Overall, I would most like to know what Riot thinks about these interactions. I'm not completely sure if anything listed here is intentionally left, overlooked, or if Riot simply plans on updating these interactions among others in the future. If anyone has valuable insight into this, I would appreciate the response.
