Riot, please make Ultra Rapid Fire permanently accessible

I enjoy URF so much, it is fast, intense and much more fun than regular game modes. Please make it available to play permanently or at least make it available more often. I'm sure other people enjoy it a lot as well. Thanks.

The reason I believe its best that URF only comes around once in a while is that it preserves most of the fun. Even when its been available only few days you start seeing the same champs over and over :p. sadly a lot of people take URF way to seriously.

The thing is you can ban op champs, it is fun regardless of op champs to me, i want to play urf and it just takes so long to be available again.

Even with bans you see the same champs too much.

It would be nice to see it and some of the other game modes added to custom matches and only IP (or experience) would be gained from them. Custom games just don't have a use anymore other than people showing off or testing builds. After all ARAM started as a player made game and used to rely on the honor system. Most of the fun for me was never climbing ladders or showing off fancy gotta catch em all emotes. No it was the goofing around with friends in custom games. Please make custom game modes more customizable and adding urf or other featured modes to its options could bring back the fun to league and possibly recoup some of the customers riot has lost to overwatch. Make videogames about having fun again riot.

Definitely a good idea to make urf available in custom mode as well.

The one thing you have to realize about RGMs are that they're only available very briefly because they're nothing but a gimmick, and get stale very fast. URF is especially kept like this because not only is it gimmicky, but some champions are inherently better than others, and because of this, a META forms very quickly.

Imo, urf is the most cancerous gamemode there is. Why do people think more cancerous versions of already mega-frustrating champions are ok to play against because it's labeled as "URF"?

It's clear to me that urf isn't for you. That's ok league has other game modes. I myself like the "gimmick" game modes, but the last thing anyone wants you to do is be forced to play them against your will. Just remember that every time you hit that 'play' button no one is forcing you to right? That being said URF and many other "gimmick" modes have been very popular. I myself think of them as great training tools while at the same time they're just a lot of fun and I know tons of people who agree. We want to play them. The demand is out there just waiting on the supply..... Riot cough cough it's just another fine point that people that don't want to play these modes wouldn't have to if they were included as options in custom games (not that anyone really HAS to play them to begin with)

Think about how much fun we all could have if all we had to do was start up a custom and goof around with our friends in our very own version of our favorite game modes.

Then keep them permanent, but limit them to customs. They're much better with friends anyway.

think of it from the development team perspective. Having URF as a permanent game woudl mean that they woudl have to balance it with the patch releases similarly of how TT and ARAM are balanced and unlike the former URF was never meant to be balance, it was meant to be a joke and thus is meant to be as ridiculous imbalance as possible. Anyway besides the amount of work needed to balance it out, chances are the finish product will not be to your liking since it woudl be to be heavily changed to balance it out, it woudl also mean a lot of money and resources put into a gimmick mode that will most likely have his playerbase drop after a few weeks.

Is just not worth the effort, URF is fine either once a year or in RGM, having it permanent is like dropping money on a teared bag....why do you think dominion was moved to RGM where it have had moderate success? (after being completely forgotten and barely played when it was on permanent mode)

I see why you and riot would think that, but the reality is that there is a great deal of people that still played on the crystal scar map. Maybe not for dominion but they still played hide and seek or other non-official games there. A perm URF wouldn't be aimed at being balanced true, but sometimes don't you want to go to just let the pieces fall where they may. Imagine it if it was like a team battle royale, first team to reach a certain number of kills collectively (or an individual) would win the match. Think of all the times that you've been in a game where you know you shouldn't be team fighting because you're all under leveled and under the average gold income, but there are those guys that run in head first anyway. It could provide an outlet for the masses of people that don't think about the game to just let loose and stay out of your traditional queues while also providing a constant feed back of raw data for the devs to play around with.

because its just a fun mode, quit takin it so seriously bro

or something dumb like that. the power gap between top tier meta and the rest is so, so much wider than any other game mode which is why I think people get so frustrated with it. On the Rift at least, there are kind of always "top tier" picks but you can literally win with everything, on urf however, the difference between a champ like yasuo against shaco/zed are lightyears apart

Honestly, the only way the gamemode is gonna be bearable for me is if Sona, Eve, Ryze, Shaco, Zed, Ekko, Wukong, and Nidalee are perma-banned outside of a custom game.

Yeeaahh... so, what I'm getting from your comments is that you're the kind of player who should definitely not ever play URF. Just stick to ranked, buddy. Anyone who enjoys URF will continue to do so without you (possibly moreso).

Alchemikas2 votes

Nobody is forcing you to play, im not suggesting to remove normal gamemodes, your comment basically boils down to "stop liking what i dont like"

Except you're forgetting that the addition of a permanent URF would raise the queue times of any other game mode dramatically. Play URF and love it all you want, I honestly couldn't care less. But if it's gonna be your fun at the expense of my fun, that's where I draw the line.

So your fun is more important than anyone else's fun? How do you gauge who's fun gets priority? It's attitudes like this that plant the seeds of toxicity. Also many people play league of legends and if you arw the type of person that strives for recognition of numbers instead of having fun in sure there and will be for some time to come enough people to fill the queues for your oh so important "fun".

Most people i know that have played league consistantly for a long period of time don't constantly queue up back to back keeping the queue filled. They instead morw likely than not, leave their accounts idle, logged in doing nothing or they switchback and forth between the few game modes. The little bit of variety that there is keeps them playing because of nothing else better to do yet (until pokemon go) but I assure you your queue times are more likely tied to your match making rating and that system above all else. Additional game modes wouldn't effect your queue. It might cause less people to want to queue up with you but you'll still find a match in queue.

There's a huge drop off in players after any of the game modes have been out for a few days. They don't want the special game modes to go the way of old dominion and just die out due to there being no players. Urf is fun in small bursts, but gets old pretty fast. The player drop off and increased queue times support this.

Allowing people to play said game modes in a custom match wouldn't effect queues at all though. Imagine that. Bringing back the popularity of custom match modes for fun instead of who has the biggest **** because of their rank or mastery level would be so great imho. The experience of true fun out weighs any number on a profile.

I don't think you quite understand what you said.

How does taking people out of regular queues not effect regular queue times?

OK Ok, miniscule effects that may or may t be seen are possible for any change to game modes yes. My point is in saying that is that people already play customs and people already play RGMs... I would say it may even help with keeping people in their separate corners. Some people want a corner for fun and to play the game, while others care about queues and scores and win rates. Personally I'm tired of the ego fronted gaming social networks. When I first started playing league the average queue time was 2.5-3 minutes and I would gladly go back to that time when league was more fun. Players played custom game modes in small groups back to back for ours like SR ARAM, ultimate bravery, hide and seek. I would trade the mastery level emotes the fancy new map and champion designs for my love of the game back in a heart beat AND I'd do it with 5min queues with a smile on my face and still fork over RP because I could gain such a pleasurable experience from not giving a care about LC$ or ladders just good time. Please Riot, if you as developers have any love left for the fun in playing games, give us the players this. Give us the fun back.

I just had to say queue times... is that honestly what you're worried about? First world problems lol.

Nah think it's fine as it is. This way every time it comes back they can modify / improve it. For example how about aram urf? Or urf on different maps. Same old shit boring.

They should also remove twisted treeline ... That game mode is boring af

Even though I don't like twisted treeline personally, I still think it should stay. I've played league for a long time and the last thing they should do is dump what little variety there is left. If anything they should put some effort into addeing and supporting even more maps and game modes. You can only stay hooked on something with a single new champion incrementally for so long.

I respectfully disagree. I don't want them wasting dev resources on other maps. Every new patch they have to test everything on multiple maps, that's just a waste of time and resources. The weekly rotation should be all thd variety that the players crave.

I wouldn't wanna see any more permanent maps, ARAM and SR are enough for me.

Not for myself and others. We want more maps more modes more fun. I'm not blind to the way development works. If they kept the maps modular it'd be much easier to fix/update them. If such a tool was development tool existed for the players to create their own maps and submit them for riots approval or editation it would certainly keep it interesting enough for their play base NOT to flock off to other newer more exciting at the time games.

First I wanna apologize for the spelling damn autocorrect lol.

I think we're arguing two sides if the same coin. I would love to see more maps and game modes, especially ones that the community came up with. I would love to see new and innovative twists on the same sr formula

However im arguing that these special maps should be only available for weekly rotations. I'd the has to balance and QA for 4 maps instead of teo, that would effectively double the dev time, esp I'd they have to maintain them every update.

If they are weekly, then they would remain fresh, and also lighten the dev / QA load.

Cheers :D

I'd prefer they be permanently introduced into custom games. ARAM though it's not taken serious by the majority of players that only want to climb ladders in competative play, it's still been very popular and in my eyes a success. ARAM was started by the players who in custom games used their imaginations to have fun. THAT'S the kind of thing that inspires me and makes me personally keep pushing for new and exciting things in this game.
