How to lane against jumping champions?

So, I'll admit I'm quite new to this game, friends just got me playing about 2 weeks ago. I like magic champions and ADC ones as I like ranged combat although I do like a couple of melee ones. However when playing my Mages/ADC's I find it incredibly difficult to lane against champions that can jump such as Kindred or Yasuo (those are the 2 big ones I have a lot of trouble with). My friends always say to keep my distance which I try my best to do whilst getting some farm but I always seem to get jumped on and end up dying. I have no idea how to combat them. Any tips/suggestion you guys could provide for a newbie would be very much appreciated :) thanks for your time.

Alright, so, what you're refering to is basically mobility. Jumps / dashes / blinks, all go down to it. The main counter to mobility, is more mobility. Ahri, Fizz fit that role, then Kalista / Vayne for ADC's. If that fails, point and click spells / abilities are also useful. Malzahar and Annie jump to mind for mages, while Varus isn't bad for an ADC that counters mobility.

On a slightly higher level of play, there's the idea of Orbwalking, or stutterstepping. It's basically movement, while turning around to AA. Sounds simple, but it really defines how good an ADC is. That just takes time to grind out / practice.

You need to learn to do something called kiting. Walk back shoot, walk back shoot. Most of the close range champions can poked down so they are too scared to go in on you. Yasuo is a pain no matter how experienced you are. His ability to jump requires a minion wave or something to jump too. Typically he goes all in so you need to doge his tornado and then blast him. If nothing else play safe and try to out farm him. If he doesn't get fed he falls off hard late game. If your having problems with Kindred ADC they are the same way. Kindred is not made to work in lane and without marks they fall off fast. Also disrupting there farm plants them on there collective butts as they are very item dependent. Just sit back play safe push them off farm and get your BF first. All in all champions with slow and stun abilities work well against both of these champions. If they get stunned there dead. So Ashe, Viktor, and Vegier are good at dropping them.

Just stop playing this game. Riot keep making mobile and fast champions and fill all of them with skillshots.
