The Cleanse Spell

I know I'm writing this out of frustration but this really really bugs me. How come QSS is better than cleanse? I thought cleanse should be pretty self-explanatory in its name. But why the heck does cleanse not work on a malz ult?

I know the whole cleanse doesn't work on airborne or suppression but that's pretty stupid to me. Its dumb to me because it forces any ap mid laner (or actually any champion in the game) that is going against a Malzahar to get a QSS. As we know, QSS only builds into a ad/life steal item which is worthless for any AP champion. Why not make cleanse into a better QSS? This would fix this problem of forcing an AP champion to waste money and an item slot to avoid getting totally screwed in game. It limits the potential of the opposing champion by a substantial amount so much so that I think its unreasonably unfair that cleanse does not work against a malz ult. Its sad to say but its like cleanse is almost a totally useless spell.

I would love to hear what other people think about this issue and to support or oppose my argument.

On the other hand, having a qss almost makes it impossible for him to outduel you if you're ranged.

Also, the only reason cleanse doesn't work is because suppressions prevent the use of summoner spells, and if cleanse were to work on them, then malz would end up losing his ult which allows the rest of his kit to work, without the enemy making a meaningful sacrifice. So malz wouldn't be able to win almost any lane.
