It's too hard for new players to get a good experience

Recently I had a friend who wanted to learn League Of Legends because he ran out of games to play. He had just finished the tutorial and ran into at least 8 smurfs in 2 blind pick games. His teammates claimed to be smurfs and after dying once and flaming the clearly new Ashe, they disconnected as they could probably just make a new account if their current smurf was banned or had a timer on it. The fact that the "smurfs" had died to the enemy team meant that they were probably smurfing as well. "Just play bots." Would probably be the obvious answer, but in my opinion bots don't provide a real experience to an actual player and won't help my friend prepare for blind pick. I know there is literally no way to stop people from making smurf accounts, but I just wanted to talk about it. I'm sure there are a good amount of new players, my friend just couldn't seem to find a match like that. Then again it was only 2 games but who knows if he'll even play again. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

In my experience helping new players get into the game, the best thing you can do for them is to play in games with them, even if it is on your level 30 account, talk them through what is happening if people get toxic, and taking them to custom 1v1 games to help them get over problems or vs bots if they get down.

Playing vs bots doesn't prepare you adequately for playing against players, but it does help you get the controls down, learn what items are good and why, and learn individual character and role nuances, especially for new players.

Same thing happened to me in season 5.

I had to spam aram games to learn mechanics because I would just get smash by smurfs(hell let's be real even the non-smurfs were destroying me) in lane.

Once I got down the basic controls and got a good feel for comboing I went to SR and it was a lot easier.
