What’s the point of activating runes anymore?

Riot, Just because ryze’s win rate went up doesn’t mean he is in a healthy spot.

Ryze desperately needs some changes to his passive so activating runes becomes meaningful again. Losing the shield was too big of a hit for us ryze mains. Now the champion is too simple. No more thinking your runes and planning your trades... Current version of ryze is a short range dmg bot (glass cannon) which is brain dead simple. You should probably change his difficulty level on champion page cause he is apparently severe difficulty

In the past if you were good at ryze you would carry games now you really can’t cause you die in two hits without the shield. Now I understand pro play diversity but this version of ryze is not ok...

Suggestion: give ryze his shield back, you know the one he had since league was created thus making ryze’s runes meaningful again. Rework his ulti because nobody wants an utility ultimate on a mage like ryze. His ulti is too good for pro play and sucks for soloq. Instead, give us the old ultimate with spell vamp.
