Being punished because someone leaves the game in a Ranked game

Why when someone goes AFK or just leaves in RANKED games, the whole team has to lose LP because of that one guy ? Seriously though, I know im far from being the first to point this out, but why has Riot done nothing to prevent this sort of injustice from happening? Furthermore, those leavers don't get any special sort punishment, thus making this behaviour so common. They are sending the wrong message by not acting on this topic. If you know you won't have time to finish a game, or if your connection has some issues just don't play. People who do need to be punished. Period. These factors actualy mather in a ranked environment and it impacts all the players in that lobby.

Like I said many others before me have suggested some for form of compensation for those who get leavers in their game in the form of bonus LP on their next win. Would you guys be open to such a feature ? (Feel free to vote) Im sure they can have a condition preventing this feature from happening if someone DC'ed near the end to prevent exploits.

So what is Riot waiting for ?

Okay. First of all, leavers ARE punished. My mother is dying of terminal illness, and literally right as soon as I made it to the loading screen she called me and needed help. I couldn't finish the game so I disconnected myself so my team could remake. I did the responsible thing to prevent my team from losing LP. That alone got me a 20 minute low priority queue punishment. I had no choice, but got punished for it anyway. So yes, leavers do get punished.

Second, any method used to protect the 4 people left after a leaver can be abused. Let's say for example, if you have an afk on your team, you don't lose LP. So I'm in top lane and Im feeding my ass off. I feel bad, so I disconnect which prevents my team from losing LP. That would happen alot.

Third, you win games because the enemy team has AFK players. Statistically the enemy team has a higher chance to have an AFK because you won't do it (right?).

it doesn't really happen often enough that they worry about it other than how to punish the leavers properly.

Of course, IRL things are bound to priority over LoL, it's just a game after all. But someone who loses lane and just decides to leave isn't a rare thing to happen. I fill in reports everyday because of situations like this and i've never, not even once, recieved a notification saying that somebody I reported got punished. To me increasing their queue time is not enough. If it was stuff like would not happen so often. Maybe it's because im in low elo and people are more toxic there. If someone goes AFK on the ennemy team sure I win LP but the game iss still ruined and still report those as anyone should. Again im sure they can implement conditions to prevent exploits from happening. Im not saying it's an easy thing to do, but sure do think it's a necesity if you want to preserve to competitive aspect of ranked games.

And to those saying it doesn't realy happen often, it happened in 3 out of my last 6 solo queue games. Im sick of this BS. They need to do something ASAP
