Playing from behind

So I've just played a game with a , who insists that I've made poor choices playing as when I've made aggressive ult plays to try and get my team ahead with my gold lead (both bot and midlane lost pretty hard)

So my question to you is this: do you play aggressively and look for an enemy team fuckup as the only member on your team who's remotely ahead, or do you just let your team farm passively while enemy team takes objectives in order to catch up in gold and xp deficits?
