Matchmaking, if you can even call it that.

How are new players to the game supposed to learn and enjoy leveling up when Riot's supposed matchmaking seems to love stacking the teams. Haven't reached 30 yet, so no rank as of yet. And I know the whole philosophy of playing people better than you to become better yourself. But, when every match is 5 unranked <30's playing against a Plat, Gold, 2 silvers and 1 Unranked, the game isn't fun, nor a learning experience as they just pub stomp your team in lane(s) regardless of what you do. This happens far too often where one side is unranked, and the other side contains ranked members.

PS. Is it just me, or is the team builder extremely slow recently, takes 20+ min to find a game. I understand I am unranked and maybe the client has a hard time finding matches. Are matches found quicker once you reach 30 and have a rank?

The problem is the matchmaking doesn't take their Ranked level into account. I have this as well, I am unranked but am constantly faced with Silvers/Gold/Plats. It's really annoying but part of the game I guess :/

low level player dont play draft pick/teambuilder very often so the matchmaking has trouble finding players. youll get matched with everything in 20 min queue- i advise to not accept games with that much queue time. the more you play the better the matchmaking becomes. teambuilder has its own mmr (im not quite sure). i dont play it quite often but when i do i play against low diamonds/high plats (or have them in my team). i think you should just play blind pick though it can be very frustrating sometimes :/

Win or Lose, just enjoy the game when you are low level. Losing to Plats/golds even if you don't have the masteries/runes is a good learning experience. You might not gain much XP/IP when you lose but leveling from 1 through 30 is supposed to allow players the opportunity to learn and accumulate enough IP where you'll be better prepared for ranked at level 30.

And even when you start ranked, it takes like 30-50 games where your MMR stabilizes to the point where you'll finally be mostly playing players of your skill level.
