How come no one plays Anivia?

I'm just curious as to why no one plays anivia? She was the first Champ I ever bought and I admit as a level 5 I wasn't very good at her. I kept playing her though and now as a recent level 30 there have been times when I've carried the team as Anivia. When I want first blood she's usually the champ I choose. Now I know she's def not in the same caliber as leblanc or syndra but I think she is a good Mid. How come I seem to be the only one playing her? Another thing is when you pick anivia everyone assumes you are a troll.lol I'm just curious, why don't you guys Like Anivia?

I personally feel like Anivia falls off late game. Also you do get stuck building a rod of ages and a chalice early game limiting your damage. Since come team fights you are stuck trying to snipe the enemy backline with a q stun and e (or just ult and e if you miss your target). After that first E the bruiser front line jumps on you and thats usually the end of it. Since she's such a burst mage I feel like MR is more effective against her than with other mage. CC tanks and mobility bruiser just wreck her in my opinion too tanky for her to kill and can burst her down since she's so slow and immobile.

i've tried her when she was free before but she didnt seem all that fun to me, to be completely honest.

with 3150 IP there are a lot of other champions I would rather buy.

Mostly because mobile mages do as much damage as she can do, while being mobile...

I LOVE anivia. She really isn't that bad even with the assassin-fest mid as become.

I think the issue is skill cap. She has a stun that consists of a slow-moving skillshot, a walling move that can botch a teamfight if misused, insane mana problems early game and poor mobility to top it all off.

Once you can get over that, though, she's a solid pusher kind of mage. I think some players seriously don't realize that her damage is amped up with her Frost passive (Stun with Q, then use E for awesome), or that you can cancel her Q at any time to both make an accurate harass AND escape. Also, be economic with her ult and don't just leave it on to clear a wave alone.

Anivia's weakness is the fact that she can't roam or counter roam. When Anivia is matched up against somebody who successfully roams her other lanes will slowly get behind because of the pressure. If Anivia tries to counter roam she will almost always arrive at the other lane 5+ seconds behind her opposing laner.

Her splash and model kind of are the reasons I have no interest in playing her. Stuff like that really does make a difference.

I do play Anivia from time to time myself and no one ever complains about that when I do play as her. My guess is that it has to do with her fairly weak early game (i.e. being very mana-hungry early-game) and champs like Syndra and Leblanc can just easily bypass the Glacial Wall and just burst her down fairly easily there as well there also. Now don't get me wrong, I do believe that she is a very good champ when played properly (Froggen can vouch for that fact I'm sure there), but again, that's just my guess right there.

Also, and as for people assuming that you're a troll for picking her, my guess is that they don't like surprise picks like that that aren't the normal "meta" picks. Just ignore them and just try to prove them wrong there as well. If they decide to continue to be a jerk about it, then that's their own dang fault and problem and not yours there.

Anivia is a tad difficult to play because of her skillshots and her unrestrained mana usage. You need to know what you are doing and how to build.

Plus she is one of the only champs that can actively play against her own team. That why she often is a troll pick or seen as such even when not.
