Midseason mage update and Meta shifts.
So, the midseason mage update is out and yay, looks cool and fun. But wait, what is rito actually doing? are they balancing the game? no they're not. They're just buffing up already strong champions, to make a "Meta shift". Now they want us to watch the mages dominate the games, after those toplaners had their toll of a Juggernaut meta, and ADC's had their turn with the ADC meta. The issue isn't that other lane mains aren't gonna enjoy this Mage Meta. When it was first announced Malzahar was getting a rework, I was extremely exited. I always despised him as a champion, as his kit doesnt require much skill to play, come on man he has two point and click abilities, free waveclear that refunds mana. And a broken ass ultimate which is annoying due to the fact that it doesn't even require any skill to play around. "Oi mate, let me flash ult and kill you". Then, riot announces to make sure the immobile champs get more mobile now. So wait, wheres that malzahar mobility spell. Ah, its on his itemslot. "So ill have my same old point and click stun, but this time, I don't even need for my flash to come back to strangle their adc. Im just gonna dash with this item and he's boom". So now malzahar hasn't essentially got a rework, but rather got buffed to a level, that you'll ban him every game. RIP blind pick players. This issue has gone with every mage right now. We have monsterous Veigars running rampage across the maps, With that same old point and click garen execute ult and tons of damage. They have given us unique skillsets of mordegaiser's Passive dragons. And a rather good fiora rework that essentially made the champion a Healthier champion, rather than all those point and click abilities pre-rework. This kinds of reworks, are worthy since they seperate a bad player from a good one. You need more skill to play this champion now. All champions should be this way. The harder they are to play, the more productive they need to be. Unlike champions like yi who are a nightmare to the adc's and soloq players, who need 0 skill and yet give massive output. My point being, reworks need to be done to make a champion more healthy, and not just to make a "Meta Shift". You're essentially making a champion overpowered, just for the sake of achieving a "Meta Shift". I would love to address any mistakes or false points i have done in this post so feel free to ask me.
