"Got Trolled" Compensation

TL;DR Give LP and MMR compensation to any poor souls who chance upon a troll on their team.

Hi, so I'd like to talk about trolls. Namely, the cost to the victims. It simply isn't enough that trolls get reported and punished (and, sometimes, these accounts just go for way too long before getting a definitive ban). Trolls can always simply create and level a new account and continue to ruin peoples' experiences of the game, and in any case, they don't have a problem with getting banned. They're just sadistic bottom feeders that ruin peoples fun and give the game a bad rap. As long as they lose, their objective has been achieved - and such, deliberate serial inters are simply completely and utterly undeterred by getting reported.

So here's my proposal. If a team loses a game, and there is a troll on said team, then there should be compensation for the other members of the losing team. Especially in ranked where the costs of getting trolled are far more severe, a trolled game could be someone's promo series ruined or result in their demotion. If say, the "support" actually griefs, is reported, and verified, and their team loses the match, then LP lost should be refunded for all but the reported person (in other words, "Loss Prevented"), while the victorious team should still keep all of their gains. If it was a series, then it should be as if the game simply never happened for the victims.

This would (I believe) accomplish two things.

  1. It helps to compensate for the half to full hour of time that 4 players have been forced to waste and never will get back due to having to deal with some scumbag who seems to think that ruining a person's game is fun or divine justice for some past wrong or whatever. It also cost them LP, which nullifies their last victory, thus rendering another hour wasted and possibly even more if it's a series or the last straw on the camel's back at 0 LP

  2. It will help to cut off, or at least partially mitigate the feedback loop that makes trolling, well, fun. Trolls WANT to cause suffering, they WANT people to lose, if they get flamed and told to "Kill yourself and suck your moms d*ck" for their actions than all the better from the POV of the troll because now not only have they ruined someone's game, they might've taken down someone's account too. It doesn't matter how zen of a person you are, you simply cannot deny that you'll at least be slightly miffed if someone trolled, whether its the Neanderthal way of simply sprinting down mid or if it's of the latest "soft inting" epidemic of just sitting under turret and occasionally casting a spell to ward off the inactivity warning and fool the report bot while simultaneously stealing your farm (and while we're at that, the Tribunal really should be brought back, even if its just for detecting soft inting). If a troll knows that the victims won't lose anything but they will, then that defeats the purpose of trolling. They didn't lose the game (or at least, they didn't lose LP), and thus the troll has failed to accomplish his objective and has been the only true loser.

Thankfully, nowadays trolls are far and few between. But when they strike, they cost 4 people their hard earned LP, time, and the hour's worth of electricity bills they used to power their computer. With this measure, we could ensure that only 1 of the former are lost for the victims, and make the game and the ranked grind just that much less infuriating.

Problem is, the game cannot automatically detect if a player was intentionally causing their allies to have a bad gaming experience or if a player was simply having a bad game while, at the same time, putting in an effort to contribute to the team.
