It's actually not. What's happening is that you're assuming that everything INSIDE the indicator is what will get hit. What actually happens is that the indicator itself is the hitbox, and if your hitbox is touching the indicator at all, you'll get hit. Besides, if you don't want to get hit by it walk sideways as soon as he starts channeling if he's right on top of you, and just keep walking away if he's trying to snipe you with it. It's pretty easy to avoid
