Can someone explain to me why myself and my duo partner recieve different lp after every game?
We usually play most of our matches together, so I have no clue why our lp gains and losses are varied as they are. Any help is welcome.

so he gets more per win due to having lower mmr?
Exactly.
If your MMR is equal to the average MMR of the enemy team, then you will gain an average amount of LP. I'm not entirely sure how many points that is, but let's say 20 by way of example.
Now, if two of you queue together but your MMR is different, then you will be queued with players who are around the average of your two MMRs.
When you, as the higher-MMR player, win, you get 19 points (because you won against people who were slightly worse than you), while your friend gets 21 points (because he won against players who were slightly better than him.)
The numbers are examples, but hopefully that explains the basic concept.
so there is a legit reason for this and it is mmr like the guy before posted. If you play Overwatch at all they show it and that's just an example, but then yes you have your team mmr and it determines how much your lp goes up. If the opposing teams MMR is lower or not that much higher than yours then its going to give you a lot less. If your partner is lower elo and is climbing with you it will give him more to catch up, because of that he will eventually catch you. I don't always go with a duo partner for this reason. It can lower your mmr while increasing theirs. Here is an easy example. A G5 climbs with an S5, now they will prob face s3 or s2 ranked players due to a balance mmr of the two individuals. The G5 is playing people below his skill level, why should he climb faster for playing people he is supposed to be passed anyways? and the S5 will be climbing because his mmr shows that he keeps up with that mmr and so the lp given each match will reflect that. Did this help at all?
