Skillshots become harder and harder to land, over time, as you spam play a champion.

Hey Summoners, I am not sure, if any of you ever experience similar symptoms, but I feel that once you spam play games, with the same champion, skill shots become surprisingly harder and harder to land. If I'd play another champion, and wait for a few days, my skill shots magically become better.

Any idea guys.

Personally, I find it harder to land a skillshot on a player who has no idea what my skillshots do. This generally means newer players, such as when I'm queued up with friends who haven't hit level 30. After getting used to players making an effort to dodge, I end up completely whiffing against stationary opponents.

Oh look, Caitlin's at 1/4 HP and three of us are barreling toward her at full HP. *tosses Thresh hook behind her* ...crap, she just stood there and kept firing.

I have the same problem. You actually dont land skill shots (where they're expecting it) by aiming at them at higher elo. When I'm playing normals sometimes and I can't land a single skill shot, I'm like: "This person is either really good, or really bad". 9/10 they're something like silver III or bronze. LOL

I like to go and screw around against bots after high-intensity ranked games, just to do something easy. Most of the time I'll troll around as either Ashe or Jinx, and try sniping across the map. And it's awful. I miss a huge number of ults because I keep expecting the bots to start retreating quicker, or to recall in a smarter position.

You got bored, simple as that.

That, or overconfident.

And sometimes practice can make you worse, because you react faster while use the same leading distance.

I would say it's overconfidence, subconsciously of course. Your mind is thinking "well I'm getting real good at this" and you start trying to be more risky or more 'out there' with your shots assuming that you're going to hit since you've gotten so good. Then you start missing again and get frustrated, which causes more mistakes.

Happens to me when I play as Lux. I'll have a game where I land everything perfect and then next game it's like I've never played League in my life my shots are so bad.

It's laziness. You get good enough at a champ, feel confident enough to pull off a combo in a quicker succession than you did before and you spent a lot less time aiming because of it.

Um I don't think this is common, maybe you had a bit of beginners luck and thought you were better than you actually are?

if you're saying this doesnt happen to you you're a liar.

No. Lee, Zed, Kha I can now automatically land the skillshots (or just kill them for trying ti dodge so hard) but when I was picking them up I was inconsistent and couldn't take advantage. Only champ I have ever felt like this with is Yas but it's because I was rusty and playing against plat level players where as back when I mained him I was in bronze.

I don't think you're understanding what he was even saying.

Maybe it's a burn out?

best way to dodge: walk TOWARDS your enemy at an angle then go back to retreating or even better counter attack.

this happens to me a lot :(

I think that eventually you begin to take chances that're more likely to miss.

I think all of my skillshot game is getting worse. I've been playing since late 2010, but over the past few months, I started missing easy targets and have become magnetic to anything heading in my direction. I don't get it.

Yeahhh I dont think thats normal. Ive played much lee sin and I remember when I first started I couldnt land a Q to save the U.S. I can now say that I am a LOT better at landing them. I can land them botu 75% of the time.

Hm, weird. I have quite the opposite :/ If i dont play a champion in a while, it always takes me a couple games to end up getting perfect with the skillshots

Is it possible you're just playing against better opponents? People generally get better at dodging skill shots the higher the level of play

I was responding to OP about skill shots becoming increasingly harder to land as you play the champ, what are you talking about?

The human mind's really funny. You ever try to memorize a song, or a poem, or a guitar riff in one day? You'll almost never get it perfect the first day. As short as a day later though, but often two or three, even if you don't touch it again, you sometimes have it perfect when you come back to it.

I figure it's probably similar with playing a champion.

You start to overthink it. I play Viktor, and when i started my Death Ray is very natural, E flick to people i want dead. Now i keep thinking about range, angle of aproach, prediciton of enemy movement etc that i just simply do not throw it fast enough/when the oppoturnity is there

My personal pattern is more "Hit more and more each match until I get bored with a champ". After that, I move on to a different champ and play somebody else. I'm usually at my best after playing about 5 matches in a row on a champ, and after about 10 i move on to someone else, unless I'm having a blast with new builds and different roles.

Depends on who you play. I never miss a Morganna Q unless the enemy is shitty and just stands there. A lot of skillshots such as Blitz and Thresh grabs are like this. You have to quickly realize who you are playing. Is it someone who never dodges or someone who will dodge without fail. You adjust your position accordingly.

I think it has to do with starting to push your limits more and more with lower and lower probability shots, until you finally start missing. When you haven't played a champ in a while, you might not go for the same low probability shots since you're not as familiar with them and don't think you'll get them. After playing for a while, you think "I can do this," and then miss by a millimeter.

It's more like u hit all your skill shots and do amazing in some games but since ur playing this same champion ur doing amazing in one game but doing bad in this other game you think that it's harder. You need to remember dodging skill shots is a skill too. The people you played with before could've just not been as good as dodging skill shots.
