Reasons for creating servers in South-Africa
hi
My name is Michael, i have been playing league for about 3 years now. I am from South-Africa.
I would like to inquire when and if you will ever open a league server in South-Africa, and if not why not.
If you feel you do not have enough reason to open a server in South-Africa please look at the following information as it might change your mind.
-
We have almost 60 million people living in South-Africa, of that 60 million people there are more than 30 million people that have access to internet and will be able to play League of legends.
-
South-Africa is a third world country with a lot of investment opportunities, if you were to establish a strong foothold as the number one company and be seen as the go to game for all kids growing up in South-Africa, you would have no rivals and an endless supply of new players coming up the ranks.
3)South-African's are highly competitive and If the ping was playable(and not between 190 and 250 the whole time) the people that start playing ranked will never stop playing because of how competitive it will become and they will feel as if the playing field is even.
- It will start making your matchmaking a lot more effective... To give you an example, (and this happens to all of my friends playing with me as well)... some games you will have a ping of 190 then you are able to do good, carry your game and win, you carry on doing good for a few games but then all of the sudden your ping jumps to 230 without reason and your expected to play on the same level. This makes it a lot easier for your opponent to beat you and your team mates accuse you of being boosted and calls you a "noob". If the ping was constant and low enough the players ability will stay more constant and the rest of the players wont feel as if your matchmaking is unbalanced. I mean lets be honest nothing is worse than trying to match players against each other when one guy plays like a challenger the one game and then iron the next game...this means your trying to balance a variable that will never be constant....By improving the matchmaking by using this method not only would you balance the game but you would take a big step towards creating a league gaming community that would be much less toxic and a lot more friendly, the reason i am saying this is because most of the time the "flaming" and "tilting" starts with a player in your team that is not on your level(could be just because of a bad ping) or that just simply "AFK's" because of lag.
5)At the moment most LAN parties you go to will only be playing stuff like Call Of Duty and other games that have servers already in South-Africa.
- I know a lot of people that stopped playing League only because of the unplayable Ping... and say that they would immediately go back to playing league if you were to open a server ... Imagine just by opening a server you could boost your player base by at least 5 million players instantly.
7)If you were to to open servers in South-Africa you would also be able to host WORLDS in South -Africa. as we already have world class stadiums in each province. This will attract a lot more people because people will have more than one reason to go to worlds, they will go to see the masters go at each other but also great tourism locations as South -Africa is seen as one of the worlds best Tourism attractions. Boasting with places like Table Mountain, The Victoria Waterfalls, The Kruger national park and the big five. Not to mention South-Africa's unique and delicious cuisine.
I trust that you would take this into consideration as i am sure with a small investment you will have great returns on the long run in the form of dramatic increase of player base, sponsors, skin and merchandise sales and not to mention media awareness.
please do not hesitate to contact me if you would have any further questions or have some information/answers for me.
thank you.

but i cant. because i can barely execute a combo without being obliterated. the best server i can connect to from Tanzania is EUW and turkey.
