Rerolling Champion Shards

So as I found out today, you can no longer take 3 champion shards and reroll them into champions. Which kinda sucks espacially considering that I had saved up a few champion shards to reroll (around 25 or so) So a solid 8 champions worth of shards. The whole idea behind saving up those shards was to use them to get some of the more expensive 6350ip and 4800ip champions, once I had bought all the cheper ones with IP and thereby eliminating the chance of having the bad luck of getting like a 450ip or 1350ip champion through the rerolling system. As it turns out now Riot games is showering people with champion shards, but they've lost most of their appeal, since you can't reroll them anymore and most of them only give a small ammount of blue essense.

What bothers me the most is not the fact that you can't reroll the shards anymore, but the fact this particular change was not communicated at all before it happened. (Atleast I don't think they communicated that, atleast not in the whole "were merging IP and Blue Essense" announcement video they released a few months back. Maybe it was written in some announcement post before the change somewhere, I don't read everything. Feel free to link me that post if it exists)

Anyway I'd be very happy if the change of the champion shards was rerolled (at least regarding those shards already owned before the update)

the change was comunicated before hand that you could not reroll them, i do not have a link but there was an article that said they will take away that feature once the preseason hit

The mystery champion option in the store is guaranteed to give you a champion you don't own. I got Bard, Azir, Aatrox, Lissandra, Yasuo, Nocturne, Leona, Zac and Kha'Zix through that.

I wonder what happens to people who have the champ tokens in their inventory.

actually in the new system you get more BE than you got ip so you get them faster

As someone who owns all the champions, I enjoyed being able to hold onto shards of champs that I never planned on mastering (Nunu or Singed, for example) and then rerolling them to get the next new champ for free. I was aware that the essence-to-champ shard ratio was going to go down significantly, but do not recall reading about the reroll feature being removed. I hope that something is done to address situations similar to mine, because the amount of essence from a shard is pitifully low, the shards come into my inventory much too quickly, and I have very little use for them now.

One solution that is not a free champion could be to re-implement the reroll system, but have 3-5 champ shards become a hextech key or key shard.
