Dr. Mundo and other Tanky Champs in the jungle.

So with the recent changes to item 1401 , I've been seeing more tanky Champions in the Jungle. One of those Champions is DrMundo . He has been getting tiny buff after tiny buff and slowly he's turning out to be one of my new favorite pocket picks. With that said, what do you guys think about tankier champs in the Jungle, more importantly tanky champs that don't really have a gap closer or initiate?

Tanky champs without a gap closer or initiate? Mordekaiser Guys like him?

They need to make sure they have at least 2 forms of cc on the squad before pulling the trigger and joining the team

I've recently started using Maokai jungle and he's been fantastic thus far.

His ultimate is great for ganking while Saplings + Tracker's Knife let you control vision throughout the map.

If you don't have any sort of gap closer/cc/etc. as the jungler, you need your laners to have it. If they don't either, then you're walking into a losing game and voluntarily opting for worse gankability than the enemy will have.

That said, tank junglers are the only junglers I play. The change makes me want to try Tahm in there again.

There is one situation where I pick Mundo exclusively - versus 4 AP champions, he was always the best tank to counter magic damage and with new PBE changes he will be turned into a full anti-AP monster tank. As far as tanky champs go they still suck compared to the standard Elise, Lee, Gragas, Jarvan, Reksai etc... BUT they are getting a bit better.

everything is situational... based on what your team comp is and what the enemies is...

nothing is absolute
