Demotion

So to go up a division i have to win 3 out of 4 games. One to hit 100 lp And win a best of 3 series (2 more wins)

And after all of that I can lose one M***** F****** games at 0 lp after i just get promoted And RITO says "SUPRISE B****!!! GET F****** DEMOTED"

So my question to RIOT is why do i have to win 3 games to get promoted but I lose 1 to get demoted This hasn't happened just once either it is an ongoing problems

Demotions are based on your mmr. It takes a really low mmr to be demoted, say, from gold 5 to silver 1. I think you needa be placed with s3's and at 0lp to be demoted.

Only Tier demotions, not division demotions. Division demotions are stupid and make no sense what soever. You have to have a 75% over 4 games to get in but you just need to go slightly below 50% for a short time to drop out. I've Been in high silver 1, and I've nearly hit promos. But I fucked up and had a loss streak and dropped a division. And now I've stopped trying because of the influx of people trying to hit gold in the last week of play who only have like 20 ranked games and suck ass at league.

They are based on MMR. A Gold player with Diamond MMR can lose over 10 games at 0LP before getting demoted.

maybe if you read the post, no, diamond players at 0lp in a DIVISION will drop, not from tier to tier

I've lost 5+ straight games at 0LP Gold III before and didn't get demoted.

That was with Plat MMR, I'd imagine it'd be even more for a Diamond player.

Then why do I play against people ranked higher than me and get demoted?

When I play team ranked 5s i play against plats and diamonds (solo queue rating) and win my lane while everyone on my team is around the same as I am?

The MMR system is beyond broken

For instance, the past 3 seasons (2,3,4) I have had 8 afks in my placements, must be said all the time but it happened, so i go 2 and 8 getting me placed in low bronze. and every season i make it to the edge of gold (1495 elo, s1, s2 just got demoted from s1). And when I play normals with 4 D1s i play against mid diamond players and I hold my own.

So please tell me more about how well the MMR system works

You are a career silver player with an attitude problem and nerve issues.

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what you've been doing wrong instead of feeling entitled to a rank you've been failing to obtain. Even tho it has been made easier to obtain year after year. (From 10% in S2, ~25% in S3 to ~33% in S4).

With the removal of clamping, and op.gg reporting a lower rating requirement, it shouldn't be too hard for a seasoned player to reach Gold.

As for demotions:

  • Players with MMR equal or higher to their current division gain more LP than they lose.
  • After getting promoted, players have a three game grace period where they cannot be demoted.

You can lose 2 games for every win at 0LP. It's effectively impossible to get demoted without having a negative win rate and a couple losses in a row.

Yes i did try to figure out what i may be doing wrong so i play with my diamond and plat friends to try and better myself and they all agree with me (that there is no reason that i should be silver when I can play against them and people in their elo and do just fine)

if i lose 2 games at 0 lp i get demoted so it is not effectively impossible.

please read what i said before coming on here with insulting nonfactual comments
