So i have done my research and most people said loss prevented doesn't count towards your placements but when i check my profile that game counted as a loss. I was wondering if maybe that info that i read online is outdated and now loss prevented counts as a loss? is outdated? It would be great to have a bit of help :)

As I understand it:

It counts as a "loss", but it is not actually counted against you the way a loss normally is. It's like instead of winning 5/8 you would be winning 5/7.
