Whats the point of being a veteran player?

What's the point of spending years of playing the game( Been playing since i was 17 now 22) learning the game remembering the items getting to the point to where your like hey I can be proud of myself i'm pretty decent at this game. Then all in 1 Jungle patch it's like I've never played this game in my life. Stop messing with items stop messing with jungle the "Fairly New 3v3 map" sucks too no one ever wants to play 3's since you changed it, all you had to do was make the walls un-jump-able in the base. On the more important subject.. YOU CAN NOT CALL Summoners Rift "Classic" if you keep this new god forsaken jungle patch. like I said stop messing with the maps stop messing with the jungle you can screw with the champs all you want but, unless your gonna have a "How to Jungle every champ in new patch" page on YouTube Hosted by Phreak teaching me how to "Deal Tons of Damage" i'm done with this game.

Good players learn and adapt. Good veterans know how to apply previous concepts and adapt them to match newer concepts. There's a difference between understanding and simply following. Good understanding is understanding why junglers start gromp. Simply following is starting gromp just because other people are doing it, even though you're still trying to cling onto the old fashioned buff start.

Adapting is learning new items or learning how to face new champions but this new jungle patch is broken rammus is useless

The truth comes out, you're mad because a few champions aren't as effective in the new jungle.

It sounds like you've clung on to years of playing a certain way and practiced at getting good at it. This is how Pro players fall off mind you, when particular players looked awesome in seasons past but then all of a sudden dont seem to perform up to snuff it's because they weren't versatile enough to adapt to change. Change is constant, you can't think that the best of seasons past will be the best of seasons in the future without constant learning and adaptation. You can probably still be a great player, but if you only feel that you will only ever be able to play in a singular type of way with no adjustments you're severely holding yourself back.

I liked league the way it was

Meta shifts. People learn different junglers/methods of jungling. Just because you don't want to move forward doesn't mean everybody else should be held back for you.

Summoner's Rift is the classic gameplay mode, because the classic mode in any MOBA is the 5v5 siege map. Regardless of whether it stays the same or not, it's the central game mode. It's the main mode around which everything is balanced.

And grow some chest hair. Things change frequently in League of Legends. Every single pre-season patch has had equally game-shaking changes, as any veteran player would know. But suddenly, this specific one has entirely changed the Jungle mechanics, and "OH SHIT RITO WHY U DO DIS?" because, rather than acclimating to the changes, it's easier to bitch at Riot.

it's just so much easier to complain about something you don't understand, instead of learning (to play).

True but, it seems like it was just yesterday they changed the jungle items I had been using for S4

They've changed it a bunch of times and I don't think being a veteran means anything. If you want to play a game where the amount of time you spend translates to how powerful you are, you should switch to an MMORPG game like WoW.

The S4 jungle was too easy to farm, especially for laners, and too easy to snowball gold totals using the objectives. The Rammus thing seems like it comes out of nowhere but if you are good at the game just change to a different jungler for a while. It's going to get modified a bunch of times before the season starts anyway.

I agree with most that you must adapt to change, I will say however Riot did go a little over board with the changes. I feel they went overboard bc the players as a whole were not ready for a Massive change in one patch. I feel that riot should of spread the changes out alittle to help player's like this guy adapt He is an OLD vet after all and Old people are slow, and resist change. My own major consern with the changes are simply some things were made to OP(WW...or Pant vrs Drag) most of those I have heard are already changed in the pbe so im happy.

Changing the game in drastic ways is what has kept league alive for so long, I think once everything gets worked out with this new patch and the jungle and items are sorted (along with all the bugs being fixed..) the game will be much better than before.. Changing so much just makes us have to work harder to adapt and adapting adds an extra level of complexity to league and allows you to do a lot more than most games. :p just my opinion though

I think you'd be surprised how long a moba can last by remaining mostly true to its roots. See : DotA2

DotA's boring as fuck to me, but they went out of their way to make that game feel like you were playing Warcraft 3. And people love it. Riot redesigning their game every season is actually getting tiresome to me.

I agree dota is boring as fuck.. maybe because they havent changed it enoug? There seems to be a need for balance between too much change and too little that way the game stays itself and unique at the same time at the start of each season, maybe riot is just moving a bit fast

So you can say

Back in my day a champion actually having mobility meant something.

Back in my day a champion actually having a slow meant something.

Back in my day a champion actually having a knockup meant something, because once upon a time Old Riot understood that a inescapable CC was ridiculously strong

Back in my day the game didn't feel like boring as fuck DotA Lite. There was a time before this Preseason when the game didn't put you to sleep.
