Overreporting

I may just be a little sensitive, however, it seems as if you can be reported and punished for no apparent reason. Recently I have received negative reports for verbal harassment while I have been serving a 18 game chat restriction for the same thing. Seriously, I am a pretty agreeable fellow and rarely use curse words towards other people. I think on a couple of occasions I called someone a troll only because they admitted to trolling in the game. I am wondering why the system is allowing discipline based on reports rather than solid evidence, at least I have received none to date. Wouldn't it be better to let someone know what they are doing in order for the person to rectify the situation?

AFAIK, riot will now let automated scripts punish you and take away your well earned ribbons (teamwork/friendly/helpful/honorable opponent). They only take time to review permabans.

A quick search came up with that at least 4 months ago the chat restrictions were given by real people.

this particular set of chat restrictions were rolled out by the player behavior team for players that not only were consistently receiving reports but had also at least been especially egregious in some of their games

Well, that a chat restriction was given by real people in that particular case. But yeah, I was actually just repeating what others told me. Riot team is not clear regarding the current status of the report system and my questions here did only get responses from other people.

But as the Tribunal is dead, I couldn't imagine them processing all that reports.

But as of yet, I have never been egregious in my chat. I wish I could prove it but seriously I hardly speak negatively.
