Tips for unlocked screen?

Hey so I have been practicing Unlocked screen lately and have had a couple problems.

Laning phase goes pretty well as you dont need to move the screen too much but when I get into team fighting phase sometimes I panic and mess up my screen positioning. I also find that when i do some of the long skill shots on Xerath I move my mouse closer to the edge of the screen to make the shot more accurate but end of moving the screen at the last second thus messing up my skill shot.

TL;DR: Do you guys have any tips for positioning my screen during laning phase and to stop messing up my skill shots from screen movement or is it litterally just more practice?

Double tap Y (might be another key for it) to reposition the screen on you.

Well, you could practice by playing an RTS like Starcraft. The controls are exactly the same.

Don't try and get as close to the edge as you can, keep your mouse a good ways away from the edge while aiming. If you're trying to shoot far away (such as with a Xerath Q), dash your mouse to the edge of your screen quickly to look down-range more, bringing the mouse back away from the edge as soon as it's moved. You'll be able to line up the shot without moving the screen at the last second.

reset your keybindings. i find it's best to play freecam most of the match but during heated engagements lockedcam is your best bet.

i had a LOT of trouble with this (usually at least 1 death per match due to camera issues) until i bound "lock camera" to spacebar.

Hold space when you're not looking at something else, like dragon or the enemy tower.

Holding space soft-locks the camera to your Hero. As soon as you let go your camera is free again. I have a habit of clicking the minimap if I suspect something fishy is going on, when I've assessed the situation I immediately press and hold space again. Basically I only use free cam when I'm looking around the map for situations I can influence. Using space to snap back to my hero when I'm done.

For example, there's a little fight over at Dragon. You're playing adc and farming in botlane. Release the spacebar and click on the minimap or scroll over to dragon, assess the situation (my team needs help/I can get an assist/I'm not needed or won't arrive on time) and then immediately press and hold spacebar again as you execute your plan.
