I honesty think that it would be pretty cool if there was like a "throwback mode" for a limited time that allowed you to play as champions at a certain patch time. (Example, to be able to play during a time where AP Master Yi 
was possible or Pre-rework Sion 
). This would give nostalgia to older players and give the newer players a taste of what it was like back in the day!

I think it was last year Blizzard games sued the pants off some players who were quietly running a private server of lvl 60 vanilla WoW. As someone with an interest in history, especially in the digital world I grew up in, I would very much like to see release versions of games being run by fans as-is to show off what the original used to be, especially for players like me who really didn't get our start until the visual updates started really rolling in it would be interesting to try life on the old rift occasionally, but developers seem to have a hard-on for their latest patch to the point of preventing historical preservation of original releases.
I hope the precedent gets reversed on this, not only as someone who wants to experience an MC40 raid in it's original glory (support level: hardcore) but as someone who has an interest in the preservation of the old of the internet that was equally my home, school, and the dark alleys I got lost in as a kid.
