I'm looking for a solid champion to main top and I was wondering which one of these champs (volibear or renekton) would be the best early, mid, and late game (1v1, teamfights, utility, etc.). Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. If both these champions aren't good, suggestions outside of these champs are also welcome (with valid reason).
Pharaoh Furfrou1 votesI play volibear top and have had great success. In lane you should be able to beat anyone with your passive and his bite (watch out for ignite). Just land a couple bites to wittle him before going all in (mana isn't too much of a problem for voli). Once you go all in just keep basic attacking and wait for your passive to kick in, by then you should be able to finish em off with your bite and use your other skills so he cant run. He is extremely good mid game, does decent damage, can destroy squishy champs with his bite, and is pretty hard to kill. He falls off hard in a game that lasts really long. Most people would say Renekton is the more traditional choice.
Sooko1 votesVolibear is pretty fun IMO against other melees, but Renekton holds his own against ranged champions a lot better. Decide how often you find yourself dealing with nasty Vaynes and Teemos.
Both of them have great ways of harassing their opponents. Voli flips his enemy into his minion wave and roars to keep his minions from harassing back, then executes with his bite Renekton can EWQE to make his hit and run strategy.
Both are pretty neat, but I think Renekton is more stable since he is less kiteable and HP items are kind of overnerfed right now.
