I dont understand LP gain or loss

In Bronze 4, I won 6 games in a row and was only getting 9-11 LP a win. I then lose 2 in a row and lose 26 and 24 LP respectively. 2 loses basically negated the points of 6 wins. If this normal or did i just end up in the statistically worse losses possible.

It's a common misconception that Bronze V is the lowest you can go.

  • The MMR system appears to go from 0 to 3000.
  • The starting point appears to be around 1100.
  • Over 95% of the population is between 700 and 2500.
  • MMR doesn't get reset between seasons.

The expected MMR for a Bronze V player is ~800. You are around 500MMR. To put it in perspective, if we added two more leagues below Bronze (i.e.: Tin and Wood), you'd be roughly Wood I MMR.

Until your MMR catches up to your current division, you'll be seeing negative LP gains in divisions over Bronze V (there doesn't appear to be clamping in Bronze V.).

It's based on MMR. That being said, it's still bullshit. I'm currently Silver 5 and it takes 3 wins for me to cover one loss.

first of all you have to look at the the % of win-lose games then at the side of the loss (blue or red): if you have more losses you gonna earn less points for a win (if you keep on winning you gain more points for a win not for the streak but because you're reaching the 50% win-loss) the fun part starts now: on blue side you always gonna take less lp for a win and lose more lp for a loss; when you are on red side you lose less points for a loss and take more points for a win hope that helped tosummoner 13

All you have to remember is that your MMR is getting better. And thats all that should matter. The LP system is really far off what's behind the scene (AKA the elo system that LoL had prior to S3).

People are going crazy for an "auto-lose" if you dodge in promos. Dodging doesn't affect your MMR. And thats all that should matter.

I fucking lose the same amount of LP I win. Can't climb. But ya op, that means that your MMR isn't high enough TO THE SYSTEM apparently

I gain a lot of lp for winning, but I either lose a bunch or lose nothing. I usually get around 25-30 lp for each win, and I either lose almost nothing or after i fail my promos I go down to 50 lp.

That's how mine is. It's because of our MMR.

Honestly a good thing to do is when you go on a losing streak is just play blind pick alot and stomp and it raises your mmr. My friend who was bronze 5 last season was placed silver 3 this season becuase his mmr was so high.
