Ranking System is a Joke

Okay, so I've already sent a ticket to Riot support about this topic, and they say that who you play with is based on your MMR and same level skill level, and the more you win, the more difficult your opponents will get, but honestly, that's just a joke. Literally I can't even get a half decent team anymore because the ranking system is so ridiculously broken. It ruins the experience for many players such as myself, to actually be able to climb out of each rank, instead of being demoted constantly due to players who are somehow ranked near the same MMR.

yea since League needs a Hardreset! but the majority of playerbase aint into it cus they r scary to loose their rank and never reach it back.

I used to buy into the ranked system being fine thing but.... pretty much over it. It is true the better you are eventually the higher you will climb. But still... the quality and # of games from point a to point b can take a long time and be really painful.

More or less my biggest gripe is I just want to play competitive games. I felt like I had that a little last season. I finished gold 3 and although there was still lots of poor play I felt I was playing most games with people my same skill level. We would lose, we would win, but games were fun and competitive. Then they reset the ladder and meh.... I just don't want to do it anymore. Dropped from gold 3 to bronze 1 cuz... League ranked things. Made my way back to silver 3 and just.... haven't played much since. I am rusty now and don't care as much so I am definitely worse but... each game just seems so random. I really wasn't having any fun and don't feel like trying to climb again. They have changed the game a good amount so it does take time to figure out new changes but overall I am just sick of it. Unless you good enough to be close to master/challenger solo ranked doesn't mean anything. If you have fun with it that's great but honestly its not worth stressing out over.

I honestly more or less now just want to play ranked games to try and play something competitive as you know normal is people of mix ranks just messing around most of the time. But most of my recent ranked games felt like that.... and it just wasn't even fun to play.

i just played with one of my friend in flex queue, he his unranked i am silver 1, he lost his lane to a yasuo as karthus, i was WW jungle finished 8-0 and the game ended with a win, when i go full solo in solo queue the matchmaking is going wild, you get matched with peoples who nly farm 24/7 no team fight whatsoever, no split push no pressure nothing at all just farm in lane or jungle even in late game when its time to baron or dragon they just refuse to help or even being close to other teamates, FUN FACT the majority of theses players actualy have an account witcht was diamond last season sometimes high as diamond 2 and guess what, they are on the downhill since then, well well i wonder why bought account is still a thing, fucking EGO fulled individual who buy high mmr account to look good in front of thier friends or something... maybe they sleep better at night anyway fuck riot and fuck league

HARD RESET is the ONLY solution to a better ranking system.

Yeah, I just lost 3 solo queue games by a landslide even though I had something like 70% kill participation as jungler, got my lanes snowballing early, etc. My teammates just wouldn't ward, don't know how to pressure objectives, but the enemy does? On my alternate account i reached gold 5 and now about 7/10 flex queue games I lose because my team is all silver/gold and the enemy team is all diamond/Plat. For no apparent reason. And I'm not exaggerating. About 70% of the time the skill gap is enormous, even by the ranked system standards. Last season I solo climbed nice and steadily without many issues, this season my teammate skill level, if plotted out, would look like a rollercoaster. Shit shouldn't happen where an Adc main gets auto filled mid against a 75% win rate 1trick velkoz either.

So I just played a game yesterday with a "smurf" diamond 4 lee sin mid. I am stuck in silver 5 after earning gold 5 last year all on my own. I know the lee was telling the truth because he tried to add me on his main account (not the one he used in game - but the one he said his main was before leaving post game). I looked up the player and he is legit diamond 4. In a silver 5ish elo game he went 6/18/13. My adc goes 6/9/18, sup goes 11/9/18, and jungle goes 9/8/13. After getting flamed for dying to 3 man invade lvl 1 (because lee didn't lift a finger to help when he COULD have saved me) by lee mid, I go 8/6/15 while having to tank all the fed enemies with only some help from our support. The ezreal adc kept splitting 1v1 vs a fed akali and feeding more kills instead of grouping. He would be pushing for enemy tier 1 bot tower at cost of our mid inhib tower. They would take a 3v5 fight at drag late game. And somehow everything was the fault of the elise jungle and me. Yeah, blame the two people with more kills than deaths who didn't feed lane. And people say to "git good" to climb. Um... I would have placed this lee in low/mid bronze and he was legit a diamond 4 who "didn't care" about trying this game since I fed first blood. Your tank support is building zhonya and has better kda than your adc. Your adc tries to 1v1 fed enemy assassin, refuses any semblance of teamwork, and would rather trade our mid inhib tower and a nexus tower for enemy tier 1 bot tower than come back to give us a legit chance to defend. Your shotcalls can be perfect, but if the team refuses to listen... not much you can do. And I know my calls weren't perfect, but for silver-gold 5, they are generally Hai level shotcalls outside of laning phase. But matchmaking is "balanced" so I'm definitely not complaining or pointing out evidence that would contradict how imbalanced it is. Nothing to see here.

I don't know how the higher ranks ,but the game is a fucking joke in the lower ranks. Half of the time people either troll ,or they have no idea what they are. For example most supports don't build sightstone ,no one wards ,and no one knows how to build. I'm not claiming to belong in the higher ranks. Most of the time when I win games like ,I feel like I won because I wasn't fucked over by the ranking system.

Okay, so I sent Riot a support ticket about a similar situation and they haven't responded in like a month.

I legitimately got a Teemo top that was:

New to league (no knowledge on masteries or runes and barely got to lvl 30) Unranked (my s3 solo/duo game was apparently his placement match) Playing on his own (he said he wasn't playing with a duo that game, and he claimed the account he was on was his own)

I was so confused as to how such a player was able to get into my game. You could argue that he was a smurf, but I don't think a smurf would feed hard and have 0 rune or mastery pages set up.

Does Riot really hate me that much?

The main problem is that the ranking system was originally designed for 1v1 games (namely chess). That's why it works so well in games like StarCraft 2, since your personal skill is what determines the outcome. In a game like lol, overwatch, dota, cs, whatever, climbing isn't entirely based around how good you are, its about how good you are AND your team, and that's not really good, for a ranking system that is designed to rank you with people that are similar in skill. As a result, we need to find another way to rank people in a system that is not based around the elo system.

Okay but like, looking at your match history, you definitely are not the best in any of your games, even in the ones you do okay in you're still not the carry....
