Rito, you did it.

Adlumia··35 votes·3,611 views

Yorick has been a reaaaaaaallly old champion and needs a VU rediculously badly. Last time he got an update was really long ago aswell. Rito also banned him from free week (idk why) However, Rito Gams finally gave yorick a change. A very small change, but this means that Yorick has not been forgotted by rito.

Yorick HE WILL LIVE ON!

Yes because his playstyle is really unhealthy for the game they don't want people using him.

Don't ever try to post against the board circlejerk, they will dig deep into their neckbeard and toss all the downvotes they can find in the nasty crevasses or their neck folds.

JustMyBassCannon19 votes

I'd rather rustle their jimmies and tell them they're wrong. I'm not afraid of a bunch of downvotes, haven't been for three years. A controversial opinion is more fun when players with a poor excuse for an argument can't agree, but can't prove their own point.

What Is Smite3 votes

"Sprinkles are for winners" Geico Insurance. Sprinkles were called Jimmies when first introduced because of the Brand named Jimmies Sprinkles. Board Circle Jerkers complain against champions they can't beat. So in short Circle Jerkers can't have Jimmies because they can't win a game. Sound Logic.

shadowhunter44442 votes

May I give good arguments then?

People generally hate those champions because they can jump in, do a ton of damage, and then get back out with little risk. Being an assassin is supposed to be about high risk-high reward, but they are actually fairly safe.

Leblanc I am fine with. I find her pretty easy to counter, and many Leblanc players are quite foolish.

I believe I covered something similar in different thread. If Akali (as an example) jumps in and botches the kill, chances are she's not getting out alive without some rather clever maneuvers. If Nidalee jumps in and botches the kill, she can just get back to safety and use her heal.

It's the low risk play style that makes these champions unhealthy.

This only applies to the likes of Zed and Nidalee. I feel Lb and Kallista are in a good place. Kallista may be strong, but only if she snowballs. The cure: don't let her.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Zed's safety is the same as Leblanc's, with a cruel twist; his W's blink has a range limitation, and his R is targeted on an enemy champion. If the target is smart and isn't forced to run away, they'll get closer to where Zed started his jump, making his escape less effective.

Nidalee can escape about as well as Riven. If you can hold her down, she's dead. She has a heal instead of a shield, so she has an advantage that Riven doesn't, but Riven's manaless so it comes about even anyway.

I'm glad someone's trying to argue the case, because it's better than just hearing complaints without anything to support them as an argument. But there are other champions with similar mechanics, and they aren't any worse or better to fight.

Saying Leblanc is okay and Zed isn't just seems a bit of an oxymoron.

shadowhunter44441 votes

You're right. The only way Nid is worse than riven is that she has a super long range chunker, which can be avoided.

As to between Lb and zed, I just find that lb players are usually pretty dumb. (No offense to you good lb players out there, but a lot of them are idiots.)

You make very valid points. I haven't looked at raw stats, so I feel you win this debate, - mobility does not inherently make a champion unhealthy. Hats off.

However, I do believe that it can make them frustrating to play against. Nothing worse than a squishy darting across the map at 2 hp...

Chromatic Eagle2 votes

Well, what makes Yorick more unhealthy? Because there's a lot of unhealthy ones by Riot's standards.

Daen7 votes

Yorick is probably the single most frustrating champion to lane against in top lane if you're melee. He has so many point and click noninteractive mechanics, and those damn ghouls will follow you a thousand units before dying. They even take multiple tower hits to kill, so he can shove you in and sit there poking you all game long without you really being able to retaliate.

Pencil Horizon1 votes

Walk into a bush, they un-aggro.

Daen3 votes

While you're not wrong, that has nothing to do with how absurdly anti-interactive his mechanics are. You can walk into a bush to de-aggro them, yes, but only if it's not warded and if you actually have a bush near you. Is forcing you into a bush every two seconds because he used an ability good counterplay?

Bottom line, they never TAKE money. It always has and always will be the consumer's choice whether they want to invest money into this game or not.

S H A Y C 01 votes

Ok, first of all... GD that was funny! Secondly, and this is a serious question, what makes yorick unhealthy? i mean besides hes just not very good under pretty much any circumstance...?

Father Cthulhu1 votes

He has the most OP laning phase out of anybody in top lane. Point and click AOE that chases your ass to turret. Unless you have mad jukes and stupid range, you're pretty much fucked against him until your jungler decides to gank. But your top, so you never get ganks. RIP

S H A Y C 01 votes

wow, its really that hard? i just dip into the brush and his silly pac man ghost wander away and leave me alone and as they walk away i whack um for free gold.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

And if Yorick is using his ward trinket properly or saves his W for when you walk to the bush?

S H A Y C 01 votes

get a sweeper? pink ward?

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Because, when he's chasing you with multiple ghouls, you totally have time to kill a ward that he places while chasing you.

I didn't say using his ward trinket poorly.

S H A Y C 01 votes

alright man, i guess there is nothing you can do, just die to yorrick then. may as well just stand still and let him farm you or gg afk . sorry for trying to help, i promise i wont do it again. Yorick OP item 3070

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Sweeper and pink ward basically assume he placed the ward first, and isn't fighting. As opposed to throwing the ward into the bush while chasing, because that tends to work better in 100% of situations.

Or, y'know, Ignite revealing you while he's chasing. Because that's one of the top summoner spells in use.

The basic problem when dueling Yorick is that, unless you're ranged, you will not be able to return his harass, and you will not be able to fight him without a ton of ghouls getting in your way. He has control of the lane in any 1v1 situation. And he doesn't have to extend, which makes jungler ganks difficult and obvious.

S H A Y C 01 votes

Dang yo, GG for realz, that Yorrick perma ban incoming

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

He already is perma-banned from weekly free rotation. In case you didn't know.

Number 2: the ability to trigger instant damage and be out before the frame rate can catch up. Number 4: Counterplay? "Dodge her skill shots." Which are sometimes invisible, cause that's fun.

JustMyBassCannon7 votes
  1. She can move fast. Big deal. My shitty laptop is still fast enough to keep up and outplay her more often than not. If your computer can't, try lowering your video settings.

  2. I haven't seen invisible Nid spears ever since her rework. Even so, they're only invisible from fog of war. Use wards. You're supposed to be warding anyway, so until that bug is perfectly fixed, you have your answer.

Oh, my laptop's fine. It's just my positioning that sucks. I know there's counterplay to LB. I'm just not good at it. And I don't think she needs to be nerfed because of that.

  1. I haven't seen invisible Nid spears ever since her rework.

. . . ;)

But seriously, I haven't, either. You asked what the problem was with them, and I tossed out the reasons that usually come up on the boards. I was trying to be clever, but I have not had enough beer for that today.

The boldface font and lack of evidence that it was sarcasm might have messed with your attempted joke.

That's a skill everyone needs to learn: sarcasm. Useful in almost any situation.

So it's fine that you need to ward skill shots that take out 75% of your hp? Kk. Next Lux and Ezreal buff. If fired skill shots from fog of war, everything is invisible. Thanks!

"You should be warding anyways" isn't an excuse for rito's laziness. This buff should've been fixed years ago

Thank you for conveniently forgetting that I said I personally haven't seen this bug happen ever since Nidalee was reworked.

It doesn't happen nearly as often, if one user can say that they haven't seen it happen ever since Riot said they fixed it. But even if they haven't fixed every instance that creates this bug, you have a way of dealing with it that you are supposed to be using in the first place. Report the bug and just deal with it until it's perfectly fixed.

You can't ward every bush in the game. And with nid's mobility, she can shoot a spear from anywhere. lol Just disable her.

For a bug that people claim still happens, but don't tend to post images/video proof.

i think because 3 of those have no weakness, yeah and then there's the mobility

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Vaguely saying they have no weaknesses doesn't really present a valid argument. Who has no weaknesses? How do they not have weaknesses?

Stark60001 votes

The number zero is not vague. I don't need to list all the the weaknesses in the game.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

You didn't say who doesn't have any weaknesses. You didn't compare them to similar champions to ensure that they don't have weaknesses. All you said was, "Three of them don't have weaknesses," which is a bold statement to make when you can back it up with evidence; if you've got no argument to back that up, it's either a lie or a red herring.

Stark60001 votes

It's obvious and I'm not going to do your work for you if you can't see it. I don't have to back anything up when it's pretty widely known what the issues are.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

"3 of those" The person named 4, so I could reasonably guess and have a 50/50 chance of getting all three right, instead of two out of three. I don't think it's irrational to ask for you to name them so I'm not flipping a coin.

"It's obvious and I'm not going to do your work for you if you can't see it." You mean you aren't going to defend your own argument. Which is your job. I'm calling your statement into question while asking for clarification, and you're just brushing it off, pretending that not innately knowing immediately means I'm wrong.

"I don't have to back anything up..." Yes, you do. That's how a real debate works. You don't filibuster and bullshit like a politician, you bring up facts and information that presents your case.

"...when it's pretty widely known what the issues are." Well, I already guessed mobility, and had a much more rational debate with someone else in this same thread about that. And even if something is widely known, stating the fact instead of pretending you don't need to state it actually makes a point. Pretending that everyone knows it--when in reality, it's more that you and an army of scrub brush bitch about aspects X, Y and Zed--does not help you. At all.

Either start debating properly, or get the fuck out.

That's not how this works. If someone says they don't believe in gravity, and you say they are stupid. Should you then have to use not only the formula for gravity in an example but also how it pertains to large astronomical objects, its relationship to black holes, and the history of how we discovered it?

Nobody in their right mind would expect you to give lengthy discussion on something that is so widely known just as I don't care enough to explain obvious features of listed champs.

I hope you learned something.

First of all, no, you would give evidence of Gravity. They don't believe in it, so you show them that it exists. That's how it works. They didn't ask for proof of how it works, they stated that they do not think it exists.

And second, you have it backwards. Unlike saying I don't believe in champions being overpowered, because I'm not a blind retard, I asked, "How are they overpowered?"

Unlike your idiotic example, I am explicitly asking for the detailed information.

Nobody in their right mind would expect you to give lengthy discussion on something that is so widely known just as I don't care enough to explain obvious features of listed champs.

Nobody in their right mind would make so naïve a statement as "They have no weaknesses."

In League of Legends, champions have built-in weaknesses. Some are universal things like CC, while others are more specific (Marksmen can't handle focused burst damage, Tanks can't handle high DPS, Bruisers don't out-scale Marksmen in DPS, Marksmen can't freely 1v1 Bruisers, Assassins don't have the capacity to kill Tanks or Bruisers easily, Tanks have a hard time catching Assassins, so on and so forth).

There are a select few champions that have very minimal weaknesses, and these champions are being reworked. It's just that none of them are among the four champions mentioned by the person from which this whole comment string originated.

I hope you learned something.

What I learned today; that this particular person on the internet is really scared to name three champions that supposedly have no weakness, and tries to brush it off as "obvious" information when he's one of the only people I've heard complain about the four possible champions it could be in a full week.

That I can't even ask someone on the internet for information, because I'm innately supposed to know everything; kind of like how you're not supposed to apply for a job until you have experience in that job.

That my long hair is still fabulous.

That Lua is an extremely easy and fun programming language.

And finally, I was reminded (because I learned this years ago) of why Riot doesn't bother to talk with the community nearly as frequently as most people would prefer.

Zed and Lb mobility is too unpredictable and provides little opportunity for any type of counterplay. Even with team coordination, they can absolutely demolish your back line with little to no repercussion. Kalista isn't really that bad imo. Her kiting off AAs should be limited to every third auto. Increasing the time of her attack animation didn't do too much. Nidalee is a problem because, even though she has mana, she is essentially manaless. They have given her power like a champion that uses mana, but the costs are not high enough and she can sit back and chuck spears all day.

Narasimha4 votes

Zed and Lb mobility is too unpredictable and provides little opportunity for any type of counterplay.

Dude... what? Zed's entire power is loaded into his ult, which LITERALLY gives his opponents time to set up and respond. If he's destroying people without his ult, he's either ultra fed, at a skill level totally eclipsing his opponents, or the enemy team just sucks.

Freljordan2 votes

I feel like zed's ultimate is so telegraphed any coordinated team should be able to set up a response in order to counter said ultimate in that amount of time. provided the adc doesnt freak and flash early lol. Happened one time when I was playing Cho and I wouldve killed the zed with my perfectly timed q w r. but kog flashed him right out of my combo lol.
