[LORE] Shurima, Kalamanda, Skarner, and the Crystal Scar
With the newest game mode coming out soon as well as a new champion: Azir, how exactly does this all fit into the "lore" and "story" of the League of Legends? I ask simply because of the decisions surrounding the ending of the Journal of Justice, other retcons made to Champions lore in the past, and now all of this clusterfuck known as Ascension.
First: Skarner, the Crystal Vanguard. A Brackern and defender of the ancient buried world awoken by the magic and time problems surrounding the Kalamanda and the Crystal Scar. Now, I'm to just take your word that he's a monster from Shurima? No connection to another race of individuals that sleep unbothered buried in the world of Runeterra? Why would the Crystal Scar even exist and why would Skarner be a champion if not for this story of conflict in Kalamanda?
Second: I know that the "map" is rather vague about where these locations are in reference to Valoron and Runeterra, but knowing the story behind the Crystal Scar and the conflict between Noxus and Demacia, can we really just assume that Shurima and Kalamanda are even that close that the sands could just spill willy nilly into the Crystal Scar like that?
tl;dr: I'm simply upset at Rito's current implementation of "story" and "lore" when they have a perfectly good background story established, but just swept it all aside for the sake of promoting new gameplay and champions. If you're going to keep retconing established information, why not just eliminate it all together and save yourself the headaches of trying to write it off to people who have been around for more than a year?
