LoL is hyper popular towards casual players. Ranked Qs are especially unrepresentative of the population as a whole.
That and the Q tries to pair you up with people of equal skill level and in a way that fits everyone's preferred roles. There's only so many combinations that work, and that greatly limits the flexibility and thus time you can get in a game.
If queue lasts more than 1.5x the estimated time, it's bugged.

same complaint. Though in bronze/silver where 70% of the stupid community is why the fuck do I have to wait 15 minutes for games?
Cause support is a role.
Maybe because sometimes people like to do PBE testing with new changes, I guess.
Because no one wants to play support.
