Disapointed after placements

Throughout placements i could tell the level of my opponents wasn't really in line with my own. From game 1 to 10 i felt i never played against increasingly better opponents. After going 9-1 in placements, i was excited to see that i was most likely gonna start better than i finished last season. To all the gods of this game i suck and finished in silver five. After finishing placements i get placed in bronze 4. Not sure of riots methods for this seasons placements but the thought of stomping through 4 divisions to easily get back to silver really bores me. Why not give players the chance who have practiced and improved over the preseason the ability to move forward in the ranking systems. Seems like a odd and annoying way of handling it. Winning 9 out of ten games and dropping 4 divisions in outrageous.

Doing placements atm = bronze V

I know people who won all 10 and are placed there.

I got 9-1 last season and got placed in Bronze 3. But then I played 2 ranked games and took me to my promos and won all 3 and went to Bronze 1. Then season ended but I know I would of gone higher. Was playing again Golds in those games.

Without a doubt, a proper matchmaking system would pit you against increasingly higher tiers of players allowing you to earn a multiplicative factor of performance.

Theoretically they could take A LOT more into account that just w/l and accurately identify your skillset based upon kda/apm/kp/wards/etc and compare you to the worldwide standard for your role. This information, alongside the intangibles of what it takes to win, would create leapfrogging effects where you could actually end up all the way to diamond, based upon a bell curve of performance.

But, alas, their system is lazy. And not very good at notating actual skill. Perhaps someday they'll improve it with some modern data science.

I have the same story with u. What is worse than you is that I lost almost all games after my placements. I feel like there are a lot of higher ranked players in bronze now.

I even suspect that in the new season there are lots of boosters, cause I met one guy telling me that he can help me get out of bronze soon if I can reward him with a skin. I declined the deal though.

Riot does not do anything to help improve the community, especially bronze and silver where most players are located. Riot is only concerned about pros, but we, most players, are just common players.

I have to say, the game experience is becoming worse and worse. Maybe it is the time to quit and uninstall LOL.

While it sucks to drop divisions, you gotta remember, it's the same for everyone, and it's actually worse for those who are in higher tiers. However, with the new promotion system players in lower elos you are most likely going to find climbing slightly easier. If you were silver 5 last season, you can probably get there again faster this season and who knows, maybe you'll hit gold.

Hang in there bro.
