Roots and Dashes

I main Zyra, and have noticed a lot that if I 100% land a root on a enemy champ with a dash...its does nothing (mid dash). Fizz can dash through it, poppy, lucian, it doesnt matter. Is this intended? I can understand certain moves, like twisted advance (since it says he is immune during it)...but ALL of them? I mean, I see that they get rooted AFTER it all...but doesnt that defeat the counter play? you dash, i counter it with a root....if I miss it im hurting... not, you dash..i root, you still get on me and I'm hurting. I mean come on, im immobile BECAUSE I have some CC..but if that doesnt even allow me to stop highly mobile champs, then its use (and missile speed, damage, duration, cooldown) should be improved.

No dash, except yasous e, gets cancelled by cc. If you hit them with your e while they are already midair they will finish their dash, but can't move or use a new dash as soon as they finish thier dash. The only way to cancel a dash is to override the current dash with a new one (like a knock up, knock back, knock down, ...)
