Veigar (and Nasus) should never be competitively Viable

Veigar in his current state should never be played in the pro scene, infinite scaling champions should Never ever be allowed to be a viable pick ( even as a counter), veigar being viable in pro play and high elo means he destroys low elo where games goes for 40 mins.

  1. Veigar needs to be punished for building defensive - i.e. he should not be able to build hp or armor/MR and still have 1200ap by 30 mins, he should be punished for building tanky items such as ROA and zhonyas

  2. He should be punished for using cd off cooldown - revert the buff to his W, nerf the ratio on his POINT AND CLICK ult

  3. His Q should not stack on champion hit, veigar should be punished for not getting last hits.

  4. if veigar builds tear he should be punished, enemy laners who build ludens are too weak even in the item "powerspike" to deal with him.

  5. Veigar should never be allowed to do substantial AOE damage to the enemy team, this goes against the whole philosophy of him being a single-target burst mage

  6. Veigar should not be able to have 340 base move speed, nerf that to 325

Infinite scaling champions from day 1 should have never be made, after the horrible case that is kindred, Riot still haven't learnt that linear scaling should never out-scale multiplicative scaling. This just power creeps the whole champion pool, meaning if marksmen don't delete him, their team team blows the F*** up.

There already is Cho'gath hitting 8k hp, and dealing 1500 damage ultra nuke on demand. Riot had to buff liandry's to Max hp to deal with this tank powercreep cos tanks/juggernauts are too god damn tanky

What's wrong with viable in competitive? Variety & Diversity keeps the game from becoming boring and stale.

  1. They aren't meta
  2. They don't have 100% p/b presence
  3. They are only played situationally when certain conditions are met

You said a lot of things about infinite scaling champions (Veigar and/or Nasus) being broken and shouldn't be allowed to be viable in proplay.

However, you never gave a reason why infinite scaling champions shouldn't be viable.

Also, Veigar isn't broken and doesn't need nerfs.

what? going up against a viegar with item 3001 item 3102 item 3157 and still doing tonnes of damage is fineeeeeeeeeee

The reason why the OP says that its because in lower elo its just too easy to delay the game. So if pros can abuse the infinite scaling in relatively shorter games, then it follows that noobs will get way too much benefit

That's the argument I'm guessing.

I have no idea why you're getting downvoted because you are correct. This was Scarra's opinion on Vayne being meta and it was a great point to make. These champs should never be 'meta' because they fill a very specific niche role. Either in a comp that benefits split push, a specific counterpick, or as a plain old risky pick. If you're just picking vayne/veigar/nasus because they do decently into anything, it probably means they're broke af because it's no longer a risk to pick them which we have seen with Nasus and Vayne very recently.

  1. If you can't take advantage of a Veigar with a delayed power spike due to defensive items, I don't know what to tell you dude.

  2. You argue that Veigar shouldn't have his W CDR for reaching late game. I argue he should have W CDR for you not ending the game earlier. Also, his Ult is weaker than now than it was before as it ranges from 75%-150% AP instead of 100% + 80% Enemy AP and gets no actual damage benefits from missing health like other executes do.

  3. We're tired of Malzahar being a passive farm bot because it makes the laning phase boring... So lets nerf everything that lets him be aggressive. I hope you realize that is what you are applying to Veigar right now.

  4. Guess what. He didn't build AP with tear, but did you bully him from farming up the AP needed to cover for buying tear? No? Guess you shouldn't get punished according to your logic.

  5. One real AOE... his W... and you'd have to be either stupid enough to walk into it or stupid enough to get caught by his trap to get hit with his W...

  6. How do you justify a minus 15 movement speed on an immobile champion with a straight face?

There is a lot of "Veigar shouldn't have this," or "Veigar shouldn't have that."

Then what can he have according to you, the almighty person-who-doesn't-actually-ever-play-Veigar-to see-what-his-weaknesses-are expert?
