Can someone explain why I lose more LP than I am winning it?

For example, when I play a ranked game and win, I would get 18-20 LP. When I lose, I always get 20-21 on a loss. In season 5 I was getting 18 on a win and 8-12 on a loss. Why has it changed this season? It makes it extremely hard to clime even on win streaks of 3+.

Seems like your mmr is really low due to a losing streak or something similar. If you won 6 out of 10 for a while you'd climb and your mmr would change.

If you won 10 in a row or something similar you'd notice the lp gain/loss change a lot sooner.

Yeah but if you go on a losing streak why would it take more games to climb higher than it did to drop? That makes no sense. It makes the game more streaky, and punishes the unlucky more than the unskilled because the unskilled would have dropped at the same rate anyway

and they wouldn't be able to climb out of lower levels on a flat scale any easier. The system is stupid and anything like this that thinks it self a true competition should really get it's shit together
