Why do we have to confirm Bans??

In champion selection I selected a ban but didn't click"Ban" button and got kicked out of matchmaking plus I got a 30min ban.

I was running out of time to ban but I did select my ban. Why is this now necessary ? Also, after selecting your champion to play, again i have to confirm... am I the only one finding this supper annoying?

It's just different. You'll get used to it soon enough and then never even think twice about the fact it used to be any different.

As to why, it helps mitigate the "oops, i clicked the wrong portrait" scenarios.

They don't want people to hover then AFK making people wait an unneeded amount of time because someone won't hit a button.

While in the early adoption people may have to wait longer due do dodges, people will learn from the penalties, and lock-ins will make the process faster.

It's not hard. Just remember to hit the button in future and save everyone time. You might find it annoying that you have to lock in but everyone else finds the person who waits until the very last second to lock annoying.

Put a mandatory "It's only one click of a button. Get over yourself, scrub." comment.

Yes, it's annoying as hell and arguments people use for it are bad at the very least.
