You know, sometimes I REALLY love playing Ranked. Mostly because I get to challenge myself and it's been quite the climb as Bard.

Started off in Bronze 2, climbed to Gold Five and keeping steady. A lot of my friends over the years have said, " Oh yeah, once you get to Gold, everyone will start taking ranked seriously. People will want to climb and people will want to get stuff done, you won't deal with much trolls. "

It's getting kind of old, really. In Bronze, I never had an Akali go mid, build armor against Fizz and then jump on him with a pink ward in his inventory. I'm surprised that in Silver, this rarely happened. However, when you have a troll claim she's 1v9ing because your all noobs, it's quite irritating. Given we all lost. Luc and I had an easy lane, as far as memory serves. Punished Vayne hard. Then this happens.

Not only that, is it just me or does the " better than thou " attitude reside in gold? I had a game prior to that one and our Cho ( Frontline tank, mind you. Barely any AP ) tunneled their ADC and support instead of peeling for our Vayne. Nasus chased Hecarim, then tell me to shut up once I point out that we need to just peel for Vayne and we can snowball back into the game.

Never happened. Was all this stuff said about gold just false? Or has ranked changed so drastically that this is the point it's at?

Plat is where people start to try, but to be honest, gold is where people try to half ass things, plat people start to try with actual mechanics, and the real competition is Diamond and above

Gold is a toss up of players just like every other division besides Diamond (3+)

Imho, I've never been there, I've never hit plat, probably by the end of this season I will. But the problem with Golds is now an ego problem. They think they belong even higher now, that somehow hitting that 1500 MMR is enough to prove that they're good.

I've found Gold to be a mixture of people wanting to rank to better themselves and the other sort, the ones that want to dick around. Pardon my french.

You have a lot of players who were one trick ponies and they decide today, TODAY is the day I will play this because its in the meta. Makes no sense.

But hey, that's people, we're illogical, we can't all be Vulcans.

No. No no no.

Low Gold rank is still horrible. Horrible. Gold 3 is my personal elo hell - I always seem to get stuck there when I start climbing.

Once you get Gold 2 or higher, it gets a LITTLE better. Then if you get Platinum 5, you have to deal with all the people who got boosted there.

But there are troll players in all ranks. Even up to Diamond or higher. It doesn't go away, but it does lessen a little (unless you find people on tilt).

Gold is basically a transition tier. Any player below it is average, any player above is good. Right now I actually do feel like DQ is affecting it though. A lot of players who were stuck in bronze-gold are being boosted to ranks they don't deserve by queuing with better players. So right now I would say it has been polluted with bronze-silver-skilled players, just like pretty much every other tier besides master and challenger.
