It's stupid how one lane can lose you the game

Just got done playing a ranked game where I was playing Jhin with a Nautilus Support, Graves Jungle, Brand Mid, and a Riven top. it started off a little shaky brand gave up first blood within 3 minutes. I thought maybe he just got unlucky. I was wrong he kept feeding. all other lanes did just fine riven was 6/0/7 at 13 minutes. and I was 3/2/5 at around the same time while getting the tower down in bot and riven getting her tower in top. So both bot and top won their lane, but because brand had fed so much the Anivia literally shit on our chests while we literally couldn't do anything about it. It pisses me off more than anything how one lane can make or break your team. it should not be like that. not one bit.

Let's analyze that game and see why you're wrong. You put the sole blame of your loss on Brand; Brand fed his lane which led Anivia to be unstoppable according to you. Brand ended the game with a score of 5/9/9 and 24.6k damage to champions and Anivia finished 11/6/8 with 30.2k damage done to champions. Caitlyn on their team finished 12/4/8 with 37.3k damage so the first thing anyone should notice is that Caitlyn contributed more to that team's win than Brand. Also note the enemy team's Sona with a score of 1/12/9, that's the most deaths of any player in the game and has nearly the same number of assists as anyone else so she was definitely not a strong point on their team. So it's unfair to blame Brand for the loss when the enemy team had a player who performed worse than Brand did and Caitlyn performed better than Anivia even though she didn't lane against Brand. Stop putting blame on one person in your team and instead figure out how to work together, take advantage of the enemy's mistakes and win as a team.

if you watched the game brand would get caught out in places he shouldn't have been. Also I should rephrase the title into saying "One Person". Also Brand is a carry where as Sona is a support. If Sona dies their team doesnt lose that much damage because their carries are still alive. whereas if Brand dies that's one of our carries down reducing the damage that is dealt during teamfights.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

while we literally couldn't do anything about it.

that's not true, though. You just didn't know what to do about it. Looking at the match history, anivia was 11/6/8. Caitlyn looked to be the bigger problem. and being you had a graves with 16 kills on your team, it seems to me like your macro game was just worse than theirs.

When Brand gets caught near Baron pit there isn't much we can do to fight that.

There's no reason a 6-0 riven shouldn't be able to transfer a lead elsewhere. Either by coming to the team and winning a team fight or by creating enough to pressure to free up the rest of the map.

Riven did a phenomenal job in lane. but when brand is so far behind on his build because of his deaths early and not a lot of cs riven cant split push. she has to help the team. That's where shen would start splitting and then ult into a fight.

"one lane can make or break your team" be the hero your team needs not the hero your team deserves

that's not how it works. You simply could not position correctly against Anivia walls + Cait traps, which Anivia could've done even if she was 0-15. This led you to feed Cait. Brand still did respectable damage.

Your team comp simply wasn't as good as theirs for the late game teamfighting and you failed to follow a coherent strategy.
