Will fun champions ever be made again?

It seems like Riot has dropped the champion making style of being fun, interesting and traditional.

With every new release, it feels like they're just trying to push a new playstyle or meta on us instead of giving us a fun champion to work with. Look back on champions released in 2012 and even 2013, there wasn't as much blatant over-production surrounding each release, and they weren't constantly badgering us with overloaded kits. I notice there's much less color nowadays, it's sort of depressing. Jhin, in my honest opinion, feels very uninspired and lifeless much like Tahm and Illaoi. It feels like Riot is trying to make the game more mature, but that's really dividing from the source material and doesn't fit in well with the rest of the champions. Hopefully this year the game makes a brighter turn...

Seeing that "Fun" is a opinion this makes no sense. To most the latest champs have been really fun tbh champs from 2012 were extremly basic but thats my opinion.

Tahm is uninspired...

Have you heard his quotes?

His kit fits perfectly with his theme.

He's a freaking demon cat fish immortal devil god.

How original do you want it to be jesh.

Illaoi is incredibly fun. That may be the one major strength in her design.

what do you count as a fun champion?

I have noticed colors have been a little more muted as of late, which stylistically I like, I hate neon colors or strong contrasts (like pure black n white) but I can see the appeal to them.

If you mean fun as in a not so serious character, more teemos and lulu's? More whiny villains like veigar? I can see the appeal to that too, riots definitely been straying away from the whimsy and even newer yordles like poppy and trist aren't particularly silly.

Gameplay wise I couldn't really disagree more, kindred and jhin most notably offer really cool moments to teamfights and bard n tahm are really fun to play, I wouldn't want then to release another annie tier mage because annie is boring as dirt, that's my opinion tho

Jhin is fun, from play style to voice overs to sound effects. He's one of the champions most full of life that I've ever played.

Came in here thinking you meant goofy champions. Found only salt. Downvote.

While the kits are somewhat overloaded the last few champions are more interesting than some of the older champs. While it would be nice if they released a simple champion soon, I feel they have done a good job of making fun champions
