i dont understand why people say leblanc is easy and riven needs skill

so i tried riven the other day and it was really fun but i can't say i had to have any sort of special skill, was legitimately my first time playing her,but things didnt go as well as when i had tried leblanc,i tried so hard to be good at her but i failed, she is really hard to learn but i'd guess after some practice she's really easy, but i really can't say the same about riven, because well what does riven not have? she could build tanky and still do damage,an ad scaling shield,a stun and a knockup both being aoe and get increased with ultimate, and an execute, while leblanc also has those long ranged gap closers/escapes and great burst, she still has to deal with being squishy or dealing very minimal damage, also really vulnerable against silences

thoughts?

They can both be picked up fairly easily, and both have high skill caps and high outplay potential. But it depends on who you talk to. The salty player who just lost to either will say they're easy. While the avid player will say they're both hard, either to defend their main, or because they know they can't play the champ optimally.

What it gets down to though, the people steamrolling squishies in low Elo on either champion, aren't playing them properly. They're just playing them successfully

You know Riven is also vulnerable to silences and hard CC.

yes but she can atleast live out of it meanwhile leblanc is just better off lane switching against maybe a cho'gath, riven has a better time dodging everything, but leblanc will have to burn a big part of her damage just to dodge that one skill shot? of course understandable with some heavy damaging ones such as most global ultimates or a nida spear but then there's riven who can just press E and wait another 5 seconds that didnt hurt her damage

I've literally never heard anyone say Riven takes skill.

Well Riven's passive is probably what most people are thinking when they say she takes skill. After every ability her AAs deal bonus damage and some people are so used to smashing the ability keys that they don't even use her passive ETC.Q-aa-Q-aa-Q-aa. with Leblanc her burst comes from her Q so you can just smash buttons as long as you pop that Q. (My burst combo Q-R-W-Q-E depending on the situation) there really isn't a wrong way to play Leblanc since her kit is so diverse as long as you pop her Q you will be praised. so technically Riven does take more skill because of her passive, but any player worth their salt should get it first game.

You are confusing skill floor with skill cap.

Riven has an insanely high mechanical skill cap, but a rather low skill floor. Using her basic kit is easy, but using it to the fullest potential is extremely hard. LeBlanc has an average skill cap (mostly just the general assassin skill of knowing if you can kill X and escape), but a slightly higher skill floor. She's harder to use the first few times, but her skill ceiling is lower.
