Wanted to have a discussion with GD about Akali's current balance.. personally I love Akali and think her kit is fun... but the W is basically worthless now. No reason to upgrade it before E, and the speed buff is weak/short.. Also Q speed is iffy... sometimes you proc Q, sometimes it gets there too late... eh. How is everyone else dealing with Akali's current power? Anyone have any luck? Anyone have ideas?
She will never find true balance
She's a Kassadin-tier balance problem.
Riot nerfed nearly everything BUT the actual problem.
I mean, it's funny to go full AD with Clarity and Clairvoyance and do a 1v3 triple kill with your face, except it isn't.
she used to just full combo once on whatever squishy she targeted and it was certain death and OP, now that that doesnt happen, shes an "assassin" and cant burst people down, so she doesn't really accomplish much in my book.
people just run upgraded sweeper, take her full combo and just proceed to find her and kill her and not giver her the resets.
i think she needs slightly lower base damages so her laning isnt as deadly "i hit 6 time to go kill someone" and slightly higher AP ratios so when she does get items she can full combo squishies down.
Like other Assassins "balance" isn't achievable, as someone will always complain. I've seen great post nerf Akali's and if you look at her stats, she's right in the middle of pick / win rates so not doing too badly.
I think the Q should be instant
actually, once akali gets going, she really gets going, think of her as Diana, except without the mana and stacking ult, Dashes...and sustain ofcourse, and the ability to be stealth for ninja purposes
Akali's kit is too binary for her to be allowed to be strong. She's a point-and-click burst assassin. I could also mention her free sustain and lack of meaningful resource costs (oops, too late), but those aren't as problematic as her overly-simple gameplay patterns.
She needs more play/counterplay in her kit. The only counterplay she allows for is staying out of her range and buying stealth detection; the only real player skill specific to her kit is how the player utilizes her W (the rest of her kit is point-and-click).
I believe she needs some sort of rework.
She is point and click, buff her a little and she becomes a nightmare. She is still unstoppable in lower elos, where people don't punish her early game.
